Hey, I have lot's of problems with VESC at 12S and 63mm motors, I'm really tired of it.
I have found this, probably am going to order it myself really soon. It supports 12S, hall sensors, and should be way more reliable than VESC.

Big VESC fan, however i use it on 6S & 10S.
12S should be fine with lower kv motors

Just got an found out from Bruno at APS that a single motor 150A sensored 12s ESC with BEC would cost 89 Pounds(114 USD). I am now torn, but I think APS has better quality assurance, name and a higher amp even though the maytech ESC is around 10 USD cheaper http://maytech.en.alibaba.com/produ...brushless_ESC_120A_SBEC_for_E_Skateboard.html

APS is generally flier ESC, this maytech one looks like ESC that dexter (torqueboards) is selling, with alu case and in sensored variant. I'll go with maytech.

i'd be cautious with Flier (or rebranded as APS) ESC's - quite a few folks here tried them before VESC and had multiple issues. Bruno has definitely done a good job replacing failed ones, but they seem to fail frequently and once the warranty is up you are stuck with a dead ESC.

Personally i'd go w/ DIYes or VESC. I haven't tried 12s more than just a quick bench test... 8s on my VESC works great so far.

Yea I would DIY the esc but I am really inexperienced and I doubt that it would be the best bang for your buck. As for the VESC however, I trust everyone here but I sometimes it feels like it has been mentioned so many times It's just like a bad advertisement

I would see this not as an advertisement, but simply THE BEST option. For DIY at least. Not simple plug-n-play like most ESC's. If you want that i'd recommend DIYes ESC or similar.

VESC - Built specifically for e-boards and community driven with constant iterations to improve it.

FOC?!? Just look at the e-bike and RC world to see how ahead of the curve this is!!! Cutting edge (and sometimes bleeding edge issues as a result).

VESC isn't too difficult either. I wrote some tutorials here if it helps - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTvBTevjSrhrWIOTWkWKcgA. Having a fully functional ESC is also a nice thing. I think what everyone fails to realize is this is still somewhat of a beta product.

I think im gonna get the maytech ESC, just to try something new. Hopefully it works out!

I ordered them myself, will see how they perform, but I believe in my eMTB they will be much better than VESC and failproof solution.

Don't get me wrong, I really admire all the work that Benjamin did, and VESC is awesome, BUT, current 4.X version is not ideal, 6.0 looks like holy grail, but I just don't want to wait, and probably it's gonna be expensive...
