Hi guys, about to build my first E-Board, and would like to know if my parts list is ok.

I'm unsure of which (hopefully cheap) ESC to get, and will probably get two 4S 5000mah LiPos in series. I'll also get whatever transmitter seems good. Any advice or help would be really appreciated!

You are unfortunately not going to find an 8S ESC for less than a VESC. Go 6S and get a car ESC or just grab a VESC.

Yeah, if you are going more that 6s i would recommend a VESC as 6s esc's are cheap, but even 7s are basically double the price point. The FVT esc at 6s 120 amp is what a lot of people use as a cheap rc esc, otherwise I would say the next is the more expensive VESC.

How does that pulley mount to the wheels? By the looks of it you will need one of the "orangatang or similar" mount adapters for the bolts to grab. I haven't used these parts, so not confirmed on this, so double check but to me it looks as if you need the adapter for another 30 odd quid.

Would this be a good VESC? http://www.enertionboards.com/electric-skateboard-parts/vesc-standard/

And the pulley connects to the ABEC adapter I posted, which is £20!
Thanks for the help

An expensive option, but yes, that's a VESC. Going price is around the 100 mark I believe

Do you know any cheaper ones that ship to the UK? Thanks

Hi mate,

I would suggest a lower kv motor with the vesc unless you are only going to stay at 8s.

170kv for 12s
190kv for 10s

The gt2b is a solid controller that goes for cheap and is reliable.
There is also a ton of people that have created 3d printed hand controller cases that accept the gt2b electronics in a small package.
http://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=gt2b&sa=

Solid 8s esc that is rated to 75amps continuous (note the vesc is only rated to 50amps)

http://diyelectricskateboard.com/
Has mounts/motors/pulleys/vesc

http://www.ollinboardcompany.com/
considered to be the premier VESC manufacturer, will repair faults for free and makes them all personally.

Good Luck :)

Thanks for the info! Why would you suggest a lower kv? I think I'm going to run 10s now, so shall I just get the VESC I linked? I'm in the UK too so not everywhere offers shipping.
