Hey guys,

I just picked up this board for $50 hoping the batteries were at least good, but the ol SLA's registered 0 volts. It also did not come with the controller but I knew that going into the deal. What can I say, it looked like a fun project! :p

My plan for the batteries is a pair of ebay 18650 packs for 36 volt 8.8ah with room to spare in the battery case:

I have looked into the RC transmitter route like the GT2:

And I contacted Torqueboards to see if they had any experience with my board syncing with their handheld unit, but a lass named Mary said they did not know. Very cool to be able to chat online with tech support, I would love to purchase the trigger from them.

The main issue I see is the amount of wires going into the receiver unit on the EMAD. It runs 4 white wires and one red from the receiver case.

I have attached some pics, please help! I am going camping at the beach in 2 weeks and would love to have this going by then.

Afaik you need the emad remote controller. You can buy it off eBay. You might get lucky with an old 48mhz remote or the other mhz frequency. Also I would go with a 48v system, much more responsive and will climb hills like a champ. It'll be a fun board if you can get it working. Those big wheels come in handy.

Thanks for the reply Mr Diggler.

Does the EMAD controller take 48v? Can you direct me to the exact remote you are referring to on ebay?

This one?:

Has anybody tried this one? It claims 1350w max and I have a couple motors that would work for this controller:
