I might've stumbled upon the best donor ever.

33cc moped/goped.

Not sure about weight because it definitely won't be aluminum. Even if it may have sprocket and chains, the bigges joke is an outrunner will transfer more torque from standstill than that pencil sharpener motor.

But still. There are guys here that started with a lot less, ending up with better 0to50mph than a Golf GTI.

What do you guys think?

Looks like it already has a battery box

But it's really ugly. It will take a lot of work to make it pretty. And those are some really small wheels. OK on smooth pavement but any kind of pot hole or crack can swallow those things. Just things to be wary of.

I rode a Zappy scooter for years until it almost killed me. But it was a lot of fun to ride.

Noted thanks

I assume it has a little reduction gearbox with a centrifugal clutch?
Would it be a 1 speed, or can it change gear like a moped?
I assume if it has a gearbox, it is chain drive to the wheel?

With a gearbox already there, how about not using a chain drive and run the out runner trough the gearbox... That way a smaller motor, with lower voltage but larger capacity batteries can be considered?

All the gas Gopeds I've seen were a single speed chain reduction with centrifugal clutch. If you get the right motor, you can use the same gears and chain. With an electric, there is little advantage to having more than one gear unless you need to climb really steep hills.
