Dear All
I am planning to embark on conversion of my kick scooter to electric assist. Going with leaf 16 inch front wheel motor motor kit. It seem a fair price and good as a starter kit I thought. It is a legal requirement for conversion to be done so that the motor alone cannot power the scooter. I think this can be resolved by having a mechanism to sense when I kick the scooter and then for the motor to start to add power and maybe to retain that power until say power drops again a bit (maybe 20percent or some amount) and then requires a rekick or something like that again.
Anyway a kick sensor like a pedal sensor is required I think. Do you know if I can obtain a sensor that will detect this kick or boost of additional power being added by the interval kicking to enable me to develop a motor control system to meet regulations.
