I'm looking for recommendations for a scooter...

I just purchased a Swagtron Swagger 3 and I'm going to have to return it because it cannot climb hills at a reasonable speed. It will do 15mph on flat ground but only 7mph up a grade that it is rated to be able to do.

Can anyone recommend a scooter that's less than 1000 (hopefully significantly less) dollars that has a top speed of 30mph in anticipation of it being able to do ~15mph up hills?

Thanks

Have you thought about buying a cheap razor e300 and putting a 36v 500w motor and speed controller on it with a lithium battery on it. It's a cheap way of getting the speeds you want.

Hello,

No I have not. It appears that model razor does not have a headlight, is it foldable?

Do you have any links to a parts list or diy how to?

THere are a number of standup scooter mod threads (including an in-progress e300), build threads, and reviews over in the standup scooter section:

https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=35

Some of them may have the info you're after (but I don't follow much of that section, so don't have any direct links to point you to).

Maybe this whole thread belongs in the Stand-up E-scooters and E-skateboards section of the forum?

Won't fit your scooter. You should call me I can help you build a e300 I have one that does 30mph and like 28 if not 30 up hills it's fasttt crazy acceleration. Pulls really good hits 30 in 3 seconds ish. Total cost was less than 500usd.

Fastass Did you slap disc brakes on there too or leave it as the rear stock drum brake?

Lol not gonna lie no breaks  I was gonna do disc though. I probably will eventually

No brakes.... so you are dragging your foot to stop from 30mph? Lol sounds pretty gnarly

I have specific shoes for dragging  their only purpose is to get thrashed so yea hahahahah I plan out where I'm going to go before I slam the throttle it's fun

Everything sounds great besides the last part of not having brakes, I definitely need brakes.

What's a good time to call? Do you have a business related to this, or do you offer friendly advice over the phone?

My birthdays tomorrow so you can call me whenever if I'm busy I'm busy. But I do have a business related to electric vehicles and only reason I don't have breaks on this scooter is I genuinely got lazy after I finished the project and instead of putting discs on I just left the band off and went without them but disc break conversion is easy enough. I have the brake levers open ready for a cable to slide in there so wouldn't be hard to install at all. Hardest part would be welding up the caliper because no front break stock. I could replace band break but I'd rather do it the right way with disc breaks going my speeds band sucks. Speaking of which I'll probably install these new breaks soon after my birthday within a few days. I'm going to make another e300 razor that goes 50mph maybe more for fun so you could say I'm into this stuff a lot. But yeah call me whenever we can talk if I don't answer send a text I'll get back to you. Electric is my passion it's in my blood

Fastassmotors is really a stand up guy, he spent over 2 hours on the phone with me this evening detailing things he has tried that have worked and not worked. The guy really knows his stuff and is very generous with his time and knowledge!
