I really hope this isn't a repost, but I could not find it. This guy's youtube channel is fantastic. His paramotor looks like it has impressive power, but more importantly he's got videos of his tests of a few different ESC and potentially other relevant stuff.

If you're lurking around here, mayamikan, kudos to you!

It looks like there hasn't been any movement in this area for a few years. It seemed like Yuneec was going to come out with an electric paramotor, but there is nothing on their website.

Blackhawk has a 10kW, but its really expensive (like 15k) and doesn't have enough power for what I need.

This is the latest from Parcell (Spanish) - it looks like they have scaled up to be able to do a tandem trike -- http://youtu.be/69_QvMQ8nEc

Anyone out there with a homebuilt electric paramotor?

I have been dreaming about building something like this for a while......cool to see more inspiration. Silent, inexpensive human flight!

The Electric Paraglider + Electric Hanglider discussion had a few more posts, but none for a couple of years.

Is there anyone out there who has done an Electric Paramotor?

I'm looking at the Motenergy M0913 motor with a SevCon controller - I'm interested in what others think about this combination? Based on my altitude I need a little more oomph than the 10k motor offered by Blackhawk.

I like how fast his prop spools up. On my 2-stroke setup I hammer on the gas and there's some delay before everything gets spinning fast enough to launch.
2 stroke tuning is a rare art.
I am sure it could be tuned for faster pick up, but you may well lose out in some other performance characteristic,..such as peak power, rpm's, fuel consumption, heat soak, etc.
Yours is possibly set for a fair compromise.

Electrics...
There are certainly more powerful motors, battery packs, etc...
How about 90 KW, and 18 kg ?.....http://www.yasamotors.com/products/yasa-250/
But you will always hit the.... power/weight/cost .... Trifector
