The joke someone has to make whenever I point out these huge RC airplane motors is... "geeze! when does it stop being a model, and someone just get into the airplane?!"...

This... this is when it stops being a model and someone gets into the airplane. lol.

Now they just need a real controller for it, and the motor rewound for reliable power.

That is Steve Morris in the video who designed the Swift and Millennium.

In this case, two hobby king motors handle the power better and cheaper than one name brand motor. The main weight is the battery so the weight of an extra motor/controller isn't so much. The two smaller props make less drag when stopped.
