Or any other alternative for the Seaking 130A?
I have the Yep 120A. I haven't used it in the water yet, but it should be fine with sufficient cooling.

Have a look at this thread regarding this ESC: http://efoil.builders/t/esc-alternative/282

Was it quite cost effective or expensive?
Did you just glue the joint between the housing and the mast mount again?
Parts was about 300$, which is quite inexpencive for a one-off. Nope, no glue at all this time. Only screws:) to ease maintenance.

Thats really good! I'd love to see the internal design. Have you used a large thread from the mast mount to casing?

Although I hate to see everyone leave and head over to efoil.builders, we need different sections for this type of build. The eskate forum here on ES was ruined when esk8.builders started. I do wish the mods here would have things like subsections where we could discuss items like ESC, prop size/shape, motors, foil and on and on. We'll end up with a 400 page thread if not and all the important info will get buried. Efoil.builders looks pretty chaotic right now too, but there are tons of informative posts already.

I also hate when guys try to monetize the info - but I guess everyone has to make a living somehow. A kickstarter for info though?!!? I can see selling parts for an efoil. Someone could do a whole setup with prop, duct, motor, esc and you bring your own foil/foil board and easily make cash off that. Kind of like how the eskateboard thing went.

I saw this yesterday which I found interesting.

The current prototype version can run for an average of about one hour per charge of its removable battery, and reach a top speed of 15 to 20 km/h (9 to 12 mph). Plans call for the first limited-edition production model – the Hydrofoiler XE-1, pictured below – to be faster.
The Manta5 has an aluminum frame, two carbon fiber hydrofoils that provide lift, and a 400-watt motor that augments the rider's pedalling power to turn the propeller.
So if the foil has 400w and the rider maybe 200-300w, we are talking under a 1000w total. Also the foils are way different than a surf foil. Why do we not have something like they are using? Last - the prop being a push design would be better for an efoil for safety reasons. Your foot/leg will not be as prone to be in this area because of the front foil protecting it.

Yes totally cool. Pedal powered foils have been around since 1983. See here: http://flyingfishhydrofoil.com/ ... and I think "Der Wasserlaufer" in 1952 was the first human powered one, here: afaik: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVYQO-C8s0o

I am glad you too joined the new http://efoil.builders community. There are so many topics to research and discuss and this new site will help us all. It's growing fast and there are many good discussions happening already after less than a week. It won't be the only efoil forum which is totally fine but it is the biggest one in the world now. We have every efoil DIY maker I know off actively participating and also most of the ongoing commercial efforts are signed up and sharing what they can. Very exciting times. All info is free.

See you on http://efoil.builders

I was looking some noise comparisons on youtube and noticed how much quieter ePropulsion next to Torqueedo is. I went to ePropulsion official site, they showed their "gearbox free" system. Possibly an outrunner? (i didnt find anything about dimentions but it doesnt look 2 bulky, not sure)

The 3kw system doesn't look that powerful. The 6kw is shaft driven (geared?) with closed loop cooling by the looks of it.

I just shared this post on the main prop and duct thread http://efoil.builders/t/propellers-and-ducts/38/50, but this helps select the proper foil (wing shape):

Hey Guys, A backer of our eFoil Kickstarter Project found a really good program for wing foils and props both air and water. It helps you designed and test everything on the spot with JAVA based program. I have not yet read through the entire site but looks interesting.

You can even select the prop surface finishes…:
Smooth
Painted
NACA Standard
BUGS AND DIRT… yes, this is an option

Yes, looks like a direct drive outrunner.

Maybe you're right, but it looks like magnets around the outside. It could be both inrunner and outrunner (magnets on both sides of the stator).
