I tried watching this video, but all I saw was ground. I would have been back and drinking a second Corona before you even made it to the top. :D

Well since there are no takers for my bike vs trike skidpad challenge, and apparently nobody saying they have a faster ebike on my tested 4.25%, 10% and 12.8% grades, name your contest. I live right beside Vancouver International Airport, so you can use google maps and the local municipal sites to survey the terrain within riding distance. Check the 'steepest hills' threads for links to accurate topography data

Show me a route, along with a closely matching route local to you, and I will video my ride, along with a stopwatch visible in the frame. The route should be a useful way to get somewhere, not one that goes up and down Royal Oak ave (12.8% grade, 1.5km long) 20 times.

Time to put up or shut up, Randy.

lmao.. this is awsome.. i love it !.. :p

Count me in once my lithiums arrive !

What would be a fair 'standardized' test for ebikes that most anyone could duplicate? Lapping a running circuit is the obvious choice, but only favors top speed.

I really like the Ultimate Street Car Challenge format, which rewards for all aspects, including appearance, base price, gross display of horsepower

I think I want a piece of this too.

Lowell, what's the deal with finding hill grade info? that's not a part of google maps, is it? any other way to do this w/o GPS or extensive travel?

Should be available on the internet, but I guess it depends on how good your local government is about publishing survey info.

Are the lithiums ready to rock? I'm still waiting for ideas on some standardized performance tests. Obviously Randy is in his own little island, but there are plenty of other guys with high performance bikes and it would be great to be able to see what they got.

I'm not interested in selling anyone an ebike, or trying to convince anyone that my system is the best. What I have done is test the equipment and present the facts, along with videos.

The nice thing about custom building a bike is you can build it to suit your own purposes, whatever they may be. As for 80mph, there's already a guy not too far from me who has done it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Whittingham
(with no motor, and no death wish 8) )

Edit: deleted Randy's post by accident... luckily nothing useful was lost.
