I'm contemplating an eBike build (first ever) of my Norco XFR3. My reason for this poll is that I have a Topeak Babyseat II mounted to the rear rack and am trying to select a motor for proper weight distribution and torque. I'm not exactly sure where I'm going to mount the battery, but likely somewhere in the triangle.

Our daughter now weighs 36 pounds, so I recently ditched the Alfine IGH bike and bought a hybrid. It only sees fairly flat trail use on weekends and I'd like to be able to do the whole loop (26km) within a better time frame.....I'm a bit slow with all the extra weight.

Which motor configuration would you choose?

Voted mid-drive because I have one of those on my cargo bike and have hauled my daughter around for a couple years now on it. A lot of steep hills and the way the motor works with the bikes gearing gives you a lot of torque when you need it and when the assist is set on 1 it's good for just cruising at a reasonable speed on flat ground.
