I have a city ebike, with 20-inch fat tires, a folding one, very like the "Mate X" bike.

It is quite heavy, a 25-30 kg bike.

I am quite not satisfied with my Tektro Auriga hydraulic brakes, with the 160 mm rotors.

The brake pads wear out quickly, there is still random parasitic noise even if I do not brake.

So I am considering the brake upgrade.

What brand/model would you recommend me to go for?

I have no financial limit, I am simply looking for the best option for such an ebike.

I know a guy at work that has one of those. You may want to try going to 203mm rotors, if you have the frame clearance (in the rear, front should be fine), first.

I recall going from 160 to 203 felt like I had power brakes, and that's with mechanical calipers. I converted the front first, but swapped out the rear recently. The rear locks up a little too easy in a panic stop now, but that's probably better than not having enough brake. My next upgrade will be to convert to hydraulic calipers, but I don't use my brakes enough to make it worthwhile.

I used these cheap floating rotors and this adapter for the front (rear and front use different adapters)

1. Large Disc 203mm in the front. 180mm in the rear.
2. 4 Piston Brakes. For example Magura MT5. Or Hope Tech 4
