Post by jordison » Jul 06 2019 3:37pm

Just thought sharing my build.
It's a vector light and I replaced the battery cover to fit a bigger battery.
Specs:
Mxus 3k 3t
Kelly kls72180
24" wheels
72v 30ah vtc6 (diy)
Fork marzocchi

Great build !
Where did you get your fenders ? Is the rear one attached to a fixed plate coming off the frame ?

Thanks.

The fenders are some cheep ones from decathlon, I gave it some heat to mold them to suit the 24"s. At the moment there's no fixed plate, just fixed it to the swing arm, just plastic, needs to be reinforced though, it's to wobbly right now

Dumb question -- compared to a normal bicycle with a typical tube frame, do these wide frame e-bikes feel strange to pedal? Is the bottom bracket significantly wider? Are your feet, knees & thighs splayed out somewhat? Do your legs rub the frame whilst pedaling?

Edit: Awesome looking ride, btw. Very clean and professional.

200 cells??? nice job, will you provide more detail on how you made the battery cover? How many watts? What is your top speed?

The battery cover I just asked a local shop to build it since they have the proper tools.
Glued together it could fit more than 200cells.
Max power is 8kw
Top speed is 85kph, will be less with the 17" rim.
The rear wheel has the spokes all bent and already broke 3of them, so I will be building a 17" wheel soon with Heidenau K36/1 2.50 tire, later I will do the front one.
The crazy bob are not good at all in the rain and heat quite a bit on the dry.
Pedal? You don't pedal this things, I just move my feet so I don't hear "hey were is your number plate?". At the moment I don't even have a chain.
I have a wider BB just to make sure I don't touch the frame.

Finally I changed the back wheel for a 17", I really like the new look
Gained some weight, lost some top speed, but the tire offers so much more than bicicle tire

That looks awesome ! Nice work.
Is your kick stand just bolted straight onto the frame or do you have an adaptor plate ??

Very nice build love the drop out from the main frame to increase battery pack size. What’s your pack details beyond 200 cells?

Sony vtc6
Honeycomb spacers.
I used 1 layer of nickel and soldered copper wire on top of the nickel
I wanted to fuse every cell but found it a bit difficult
