You just gave me a good idea for an ebike saddle bag. A saddle bag where the controller forms the bottom of the bag, with only it's heatsink exposed.

Re: Your Creation's Before & After Pics
That would be great. I forget it's not as hot in other parts of the world as down here in South Texas. Heat is always on my mind.
Don't ride as far as I want yet but would like to do a 700C recumbent and keep the weight down. Make it as clean as your build.

Re: Your Creation's Before & After Pics
Hello everybody,
I am new here and I believe that this is the right place to introduce myself.
I can see a lot of beautiful bicycles here, I hope you will like mine.
I am from Serbia and I can say that I'm highly inspired by Vintage electric bikes, so I decided to make one of my own.
First, I bought old frame that could be remodeled how I wanted. Then, after a lot of metal work I can present to you my ebike.

Some of the specification are:
- 500w motor
- 48v 10Ah battery
- 26" tires 2.35"
- top speed 35Km/h
- hard tail (front suspension)
- autonomy around 30 kilometers
- hand crafted, hand painted
- alarm inside the box
- key start
- LED lights

Very nice work!
My Ebike builds - Existing bikes, affordable motor kits, self built 14s6p batteries - Now with more recumbent!

Can you guess which is Before and which one’s After?

Bought the RANS Stratus XP XXL on BROL Classifieds, without wheels or seat for a significant reduction on price + shipping.

No PAS, just dual half-twist throttles (and two separate displays!)
Limited the top speed to 12m/20kph because over that I’m either riding level ground or coasting so don’t need assist. With the two 52V 21Ah Luna DireWolf battery packs concealed under the seat, on assist level 1 the range is well over 100 miles fully loaded in hilly terrain and likely around 200 otherwise. Can tow more than 100lbs extra (bike itself + panniers and trailer weigh ~125lbs, I’m about 180 warmly attired) up the steepest grades at 10.9mph, which is about four times faster than I could make it alone (if at all.)
Have lids for the 6-Gallon blue buckets, but first need to drill holes through their sides for the power cables (just picked up the 7/8” 22mm hole saw) then line with Dow insulation board for the winter. And of course gotta tidy up the cables, waiting on more 12AWG stranded copper. Planning to coil up the excess harnesses and conceal with an Xmas wreath (no kidding!) and wrap all the rest of the exposed wiring along chopper bars and around controller boxes in blue tinsel as a festive holiday disguise.

Oh, and also building a matching blue Igloo 48Q trailer from a Wikes kit. Local box stores all out of the 1” square profile aluminum tubing I need for this project, so could be a while.
Will post back upon completion.
Thanks for looking!
