Kirin would approve of that design. :)

And I really like the style, and the knockoff-nut on the sidecar wheel. Where did the wheel come from?

You should make a build thread for it, and detail how you made it all. :)

Nice side car! I like the Impala hood ornament. Those may be quite valuable and prone to theft.

I could imagine putting a second hub motor on the side car and lots of batteries inside.

I'm liking the woodwork on the sidecar.

Well done! 🏁

Lol ha please don’t scare me like that, I don't want to end up like this kid:
I descend slowly with variable regen engaged. If controller dies I would instantly know it before speed builds up. I had V brakes but didn’t like/use them so removed. Need to work out how to fit disc brakes. But I don’t think I need them, I’m sat low down, it’s a tiny bike I can overpower it.

I hope your controller has a safety built in that when the throttle (hall sensor) fails it shuts down instead of handling it as a wide open throttle signal (like a lot of controllers do  ).
I would advise to remount the rim brake and a brake lever with cut off switch to the controller for your safety. These are simple measures that can save you a lot of pain...

It's rock solid. I learned how to properly install riv-nuts and put 3 into the downtube.

Wow things have come a long way since the thread has started. This is a simple dedicated trail bike. Havent quite figured out what to do about the battery as it sits under the sadel secured with some heavy duty zipties. I would like to lower it and get a better COG but that will wait. The idea is to be as discreet as possible. So form to follow function. Most of the wires are all tucked, battery concealed line hangers doubled up. Before and after pics. Pack is an 8ah 52v 21700 T40 Samsung cells. Good for 15-20miles of hard trail riding about 1.5-2hrs is way more than I ever ride. So this setup has 160mm of travel front and rear. The perfect DIY emtb.

Tandem Titanate 2WD.

My first build, took forever, many hiccups. Used Shengquan 10ah LTO cells, 29s 2p, approx 70v. Should last last my lifetime if cycle life is anywhere near what they claim.

It was always going to be a non- practical build, doesn't look anything like road legal, especially in nanny state Australia. I used a tandem frame to allow room for the big batteries, also to have more rider weight on front wheel so 2wd has good front wheel traction. Used Grin hubmotors and controllers. Power is 70v x 40amps to each wheel, so around 5600 watts all up, don't think a 250w sticker will fool anyone.

Exhilarating to ride, acceleration is incredible, I was worried I would be disappointed but in the end it was better than I imagined. Big LTO's hardly break a sweat, so far they haven't gone above about 22 degrees C, although it is winter here. It rides well on good tarmac, but really needs some suspension for rougher roads. Not sure of top speed but gets over 70km/h comfortably, not keen on going any faster than that, it's the acceleration that is addictive. Hub motors are running cool, they are vented and painted black inside, haven't gone over about 29 degrees C, although if I run only one motor the motor gets over 40 degrees C easily. Will be interesting in summer what temps I get.

I chose LTO chemistry because I just was not confident using Lithium ion for my first build, worried I would burn down my house with my inexperience. I know I could make a pack half the size, but really wanted something safe & love the idea of a battery that will possibly last decades. I was tempted to go with Headway Lifepo4's, but really when I did the sums for my power and watt/hour goals, there was not a big difference in size and weight, and the LTO's would stay strong for so much longer.

Overall learnt heaps, got so much help from forum members, Sunder helped heaps in the early stages, thanks Mate, and a number of guys helped save my sanity when I could not get the 2wd to work properly, as seen in this thread,
