Here's my second ebike build. I only use it for offroading, single track fun.

Specialized Enduro - 2007
Bafang BBSHD
48V 17Ah Battery
Luna Mighty Mini 30t

Had to do a bit of welding to get some ground clearance.

This is a while after I got the bike - on this pic it already has the wheels relaced with other hubs and brakes to prepare it for the motor installation. It also has an air suspension fork (mocked up to look like a double crown fork).

And this is now (with a real double crown fork and same size wheels).

This is the last pic, made me Felt logos for the battery. The seat is a bit more to the front, and a longer stem.

Very cool looking bike Toro, it's got a real Steve McQueen Great Escape look going to it. It looks really comfortable too. Thanks for posting.

Recently found an old Kona Blast Deluxe on my local CL, so I swapped my kit from the Trek 4300 over to it. Now I have front suspension and hydraulic disc brakes! The Trek 4300 originally came with a suspension fork, but I snapped it when I originally installed a 48v 1000w FHM on it without torque arms. I didn't know the importance of them at the time! I ultimately replaced it with a rigid fork, and installed a 48v 1000w RHM instead. This setup never really gave me any issues, but I always wanted disc brakes and got the Kona at a reasonable price.

Hello,

Here is my Specialized Sirrus « electro-gravelized ».
BBSHD, 52V (Samsung 30Q), no throttle.
Shimano road shifters, MTB rear derailleur with a 11-46 cassette, 52T front.

11-46 is good for almost everything, from slow speed with 3 kids (one behind me on the bike and two in a trailer!) to fast commuting (around 38mph max).

This machine is extremely efficient and a joy to ride.

OK, here are my two cents: about two years ago I made the bamboo/carbon bike using a cheap bike as a donor. Overall, I liked the performance of the new frame, but it didn't help to fix a major problem in our area - steep hills :) So, the usage of the bike was more for recreational rather than for commuting purposes. Recently, I've added a simple front hub motor (250W, 36v) and this made a big difference - I can get almost everywhere I need using the bike and I lose not more than 5-10 min for an hour of commuting w.r.t. public transportation or a car. If the assistant is used in an economic mode, the 36v x 8.8 Ah battery lasts for about 50km. If I'm in a rush to get to work then it's closer to 25-30km.

And here's another creation based on the same hub motor, respoked to 700 wheel. The original bike (I used a stock image since I didn't take one before the conversion) was elegant, but too heavy for my wife to climb the hills (see the previous message).

New to ebikes and to the forum...
Really cool creations I have seen so far.
I just wanted to add my less than spectacular "simple" conversions..
I used a 2Ah 60v battery from a snapper leaf trimmer. I did this so I could easily swap out different capacity batteries (since I also have 4Ah batteries that came with my snapper electric lawn mower)
The "battery dock v0.1" was designed in Maya and 3D printed in ABS plastic (better battery dock in the works :) )
1000w hub motor (easily pulls 1500w). 27A controller paired with a kt-lcd3

Here is my second built. I replaced the BBS01 on my Surly Krampus by a G310 motor kit provided by Grin.
Battery 52V/10.5+7Ah, rims Ryde Andra 40, tires Surly Extraterrestrial.

Looks awesome Marc! Twin Spandaus built into the upper cowling would really finish it off!

Hehe!
Since the view would by slightly restricted...

...and the Spandau's degrade the aero propertys, I think an extendable mini-gun turret in the back would be preferable.
It would also cover my six quite nicely. :D
