Hey kiwi, read the quote below from an earlier post and I just wanted to ask about the mod for deraileur clearance I'm struggling with mine right now and was wondering what the mod looks like. Got any pictures? Thanks from a happy customer. Obiwan

Yeah I'm back. Going to Aus bike in Melbourne this weekend.
I have some adapters in stock. Slightly revised, easier to make for me, weight reduction, clearance for the derailer, and captured nuts for the clamp bolt.

My DH comp is for sale for any one in NZ. There is a NC8x8 24" or a MAC 10T 24". No other kit, but have plenty of controllers to choose from.

Been super busy developing a conversion kit for "normal" people. Thats pretty much ready to launch at xmas.

Frame mount battery cases for hard tail bikes, plenty of them in stock.
A few forklifts left.

Is there anyone in the US that wants to take over the manufacture of the DH comp adapters?
You need to find a good metal shop with laser cutter and stainless welding facilities.
And a fastener supplier for bolts and washers.

I will supply drawings and specks.
You could pay me a few $$ for each one sold to fuel my development addictions.

PM me.

OK,

So I have a few people wanting adapters and a few people offereing to make them in the US. Great.
I am going to answer a few questions here so thoes interested in making them, can decide if they are still interested.

I sell 1 or 2 a month.
To make them you need access to,
A nitrogen lazer cutter with access to 4-6mm stainless sheet
Lathe, preferably NC.
Tig or mig with stainless wire.
Taps m6x1 and m10x1
Stainless steel fasteners.

Ideally you would find a sheetmetal/engineering shop that could do it all and hand over the finished parts. Issue here is that often costs lots.
To keep the price down for es members, I weld and tap my self. I have a shop turn and tap the bosses.

You really need to price it out with a local manufacturer. Should be able to get them made for under $100.
If you do the work your self you will make a few bucks, but at 1 or 2 a month it a hobby for love.

So, who still wants to keep the love going?

If you are keen, I will supply DXF files for lazer cutting once I am confident you are not just trying to get the files for your own entertainment.

You will then be responsible for the future of the DH comp drop out.

Any updates with the dropouts? Did you find someone in the US to make them? :)

Looks like US production of the adapters is about to start.
The manufacturer will set the price, heres hoping its less than shipping them from NZ.

Once a few have been made and approved I will release contact details of the new supplier.

evolutiongts; Are we looking at the same cost as Kiwi when you release these?

Any joy with fabricator?

I now have my frame, motor, rim, spokes and all the other bits and bobs required so I'm itching to get these on their way so I'm not held up for weeks.
