Hello everyone before I start the build log I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this forum. I have learned a lot from many of the threads here.

Now onto the build!

The plan is to get this bike going as a commuter for my daily trip to college(currently taking Machine tool technology) and as a general fun bike :D

The parts I will be using:
Nine Continent 2810 FH154 front 20"

Lyen 12Fet controller

4x 6S 5Ah Hobbyking lipo in 12s2p(48v10Ah)

The frame I will be starting with is a cheap Next BMX so the first line of business is to strip it and repaint the scratched and stickered paint job. A heatgun helps with sticker removal. I am curious if there are any better/different methods?

the pedals were a bit stubborn but with a little persuasion(otherwise known as a hammer) they came off

Frame stripped and ready for sanding.

Frame sanded with first coat of white.

The aluminum angle for the battery box arrived today so after some CAD(Cardboard Aided Design?) we have the general idea for the box

Thats all for now the next update should be up fairly soon.

many frown on front wheel drive but I think this looks like a fun ride. where are you at now with the build?

I have made quite a bit of progress actually thanks for asking. I keep meaning to update this but I havnt gotten around too it.

Here are some pictures of it in its current state.

I cut out the top tube and welded in a new piece to allow the battery box to be mounted inside the frame.

Here you can see the bottom mounting tabs for the 1200 pelican case.

I im getting about a 10 mi range with a top speed of about 19mph.

It is quite fun although it has a fair bit of growl when starting Im not sure if its normal or if I need to tweak something.

I am quite happy with it but I am already planning another build that will be more trail friendly  . Here's a little cad teaser:

...goodbye testicles.

 Im not sure why people think that when they see it

a couple others have said that as well but it hasnt been a problem thus far and i doubt it will be, at least for me. It is a bmx bike so the standover height is still much lower than several other bikes i ride.

LOL!! thats funny.

like the build bud, it took me a couple rides on my nicad battery drill tuck tape bike to get the ebike bug. great choice of battery. my 9c has been great.
