Here's a few pics and some video of the e-drifter I built. It's basically an adult big wheel and no less fun than you had as a kid on the original plastic one. It's made from 1.5" x .95 wall ERW with 5" go kart wheels and short sections of 10" HDPE drainage pipe slipped over the tires to allow for the drifting sensation. I'm running a 3" moped tire on a Golden Motors 48 volt 1000 watt MP3 hub motor which has it's controller built into the hub and a 185mm disc brake. Next build will likely see a 3000 watt external controller for a bit more torque.

i had collected a bunch of that large diameter sewer pipe, HPDE, in 8",10", and 12" from the contractors who were rebuilding the sewers in my neighborhood. i was the head sidewalk supervisor and got to be good friends with them so when they filled up a trailer with all of this pipe to take to the dump i loaded it into my pickup and added to the other pipe i had from another job several years before.

then i ran an ad on CL to sell it and within a few day had sold all of it to people who used it for culverts and other purposes but one kid bot two lengths totalling 15' or so and he was gonna use it to build these drifting trikes but they used front wheel drive since they are the normal leg power.
