Hello my name is Mark from Sydney Australia

First I would like to thank the members on ES for all the cool info posted on the forum that has helped give me confidence to actually start this project.

This will be my second ebike project and probably not my last

I thought I would start this thread as a build log for what I call the Vector twins maybe it may even help someone someday

Pictures of the bikes to come soon.

It's been a bad week for me with shipping i was expecting my spokes from Holmes Hobbies and the eaton rectifiers from Allex .

But not all is lost i have just received the tracking number for my battery packs from Paul at EM3EV and my PAS sensors arrived from BMS Battery.
Last week the Shimano Zee hydro brakes arrived from Merlin Cycles real fast and the rear shocks also came in a timely manner from EM3EV.

Eatons arrived today from Allex we thought they were lost this is great news :D
Still waiting for the spokes to arrive from Holmes Hobbies i am a bit worried about them as it never takes this long for stuff to get to Sydney from the the US using priority mail it has now been three weeks normally 10 days :(

Batteries arrived today I'm stoked looks like Paul from Em3ev Aka Cellman has done a real nice job for me. :D
After 40 or so emails we finally got there.
Paul has been great to deal with on this project and I really appreciate the excellent communication and effort he has put into this job.

20s 9p pack made using Samsung 30Q cells should be pretty close to 27amp hours
The cells are sitting in custom made CNC cell holders and the size of the pack is 300mm x 200mm x 100mm and weighs 9.6kg or about 21 pounds

Em3ev packed the goods nicely as always

Lots of high density foam to protect the packs during transit from Shanghai

Yep more foam

I am subscribed to your thread and have been watching your vids.
Looks like your having a great time on the flux.

It is heating up here in Sydney and i was hoping to have my bikes up and running soon but my spoke order from Holmes Hobbies has not arrived yet they were ordered about 3 weeks ago and should have been here last week USPS has lost them i reckon.

coming along nicely! :D
cellmans packs are so slick looking.

Thanks RTL it seems like these bikes are taking forever to build.
All major items have now been sourced and delivered the bank balance has taken a hiding.

The next shopping spree will be at hobbyking I need silicon coated cable, heat shrink and xt 150 connectors .

I would have liked to lace my rims up this weekend but the spoke order that was shipped on the 6th of November has still not arrived :x

well, for us who love ebikes, it seems our bank balances have just got it coming.
sometimes i think a small cocaine addiction would be more affordable....

as to getting it to happen fast, its all too easy to rush things, and inevitably f**K it up or not do as good a job as when you take a week or 2 more to think about it.

theres nothing like drilling a 2 inch hole where you dont want it

i have taken a liking to using yellow xt90 connectors with both pins paralleled up for 180A.
mostly cause they are a very sturdy plug that wont undo easilly from vibration etc.
but for the adaptto plugs its always the xt150s ofcourse..cant be that bothered to change them all.

iv found shrink really cheap on ebay...like for eg. 2.5bucks or so for 6 meters of 8mm, free shipping.

plenty of time! the summer is only just beginning :D

Couldn't help myself I laced one of the rims up as soon as I got home from work.

I ordered 130mm 11g / 12g butted spokes I think 127mm or 128mm would have been a better choice for this rim

Nice battery packs do you have a weight and price?

I have 2 Vectors one with Zees brakes and one with Magura brakes I think the magura are better imo. Check my thread Aussie Vector Ecross build if you want mud guards. I will be up in Sydney in January if you want to go for a ride :D

Cheers kiwi

Hi kiwi i have been keeping an eye on your vector builds for quite some time now they look great.
I would luv to meet up with you for a ride i live in southern Sydney near Cronulla where will you be staying?
Hopefully i will have my bikes up and running by January.
I will weigh on of my packs but i think they are just under 10kg each i will have to dig up the price for you later but there not cheap

Hey Ozman, I would be interested in the dimensions of that battery also if you can measure it.

I was thinking of building my own for my Fighter, but if I can fit 2 of those packs in I might go that way,

Cheers
Size is 300mm x 200mm x 100mm not including the space the wires take up a fighter with 50+ amp hour pack what are you thinking of doing riding from Canberra to Sydney i will let you change at my place so you can get back home LOL

Thanks!
Dang! Won't quite fit at that size. The Fighters box is around 400 x 120 x 120mm.
Yeah a 50Ah pack would be awesome...though not for Canberra to Sydney (would actually need at least 100Ah ~5Kwh for that!), but around Canberra there are plenty of really long 100km+ fire trails that I would love to explore, but need huge capacity to be able to confidently go that far.

I think I'll go back to building my own pack...that way I can use some of the newer 3500mah cells.

Cheers
