The electric supermoto project I have been working on has finally reached near completion. Although there are some upgrades I would like yet, the bike is still more than capable and without a doubt the best riding and my cleanest looking build (in my opinion) yet.

Specs are as follows:

Evelbike frameset with moto seat
Marzocchi 888 front fork
Fox 4.0 Rear suspension
Avid BB7 brakes
Brakco 203mm floating rotors
17" x 1.6" rims
Hutchinson GP1 moped tire 2.75" front
Sava MC50 100/80 rear (4")

QS 205 v3 (5t soon to be replaced with 3.5t) motor
Greentime 36fet 4110 controller
20s 20ah (and 20c discharge) LiPo

Top speed = about 45mph (60mph with 3.5t)
Acceleration 0-30mph less than 2 seconds

Cruising at 30mph with passenger (275lb load + 120lb bike) is around 1.5kw depending on wind and grade of road. Easily 20-30 mile range with passenger - perfect for around Milwaukee.

On May 28 I raced in St. Louis at the Penrose park Velodrome with the STL MB Club. Racing in the electric class I managed to place 1st place. Speeds out of turns I was at about 41mph (radar verified). It was a great experience and awesome event that I hope to race again with more electric riders and hopefully gas as well.

Looks perfect and like the fenders.

I have the QS 205-3.5 which will be running off a Max-E on 21s.

Sorry I couldn't make the race, wife had surgery on Wednesday and she was really hurting on Saturday. Awesome on your win and we will see you next time.

Tom

Look great. That 4" rear tire really looks good. Cool fenders too.

Cool bike and great job. How do you find pedal height with the 17" wheel set? How long are your cranks? I've finally received my 3.5T in 17" wheel with matching 17" front for my DH comp and I'm slightly worried about pedal strike given that it's going to drop the frame ~50mm compared to the 24/26" setup i'm currently running. May end up drilling and tapping existing cranks to move pedal mounts in and cut off the excess if it's an issue.

I've got to break ranks on the fenders though, definitely not a fan of the motocross style and definitely not when they end up so far away from the tires. I managed to find a very cost effective moped fender suitable for the diameter of the 17" rear and i'm going to have a go mounting that with minimal airgap to the swingarm. Closer the fender the better in terms of spray reduction!

Thanks Ohbse!

the pedal height is a bit low, especially when i ride with a passenger - but i never pedal when riding with 2 people any way so its not a problem - just keep the pedals level or on turns keep the inside pedal up. i think the cranks are 165mm i cant remember exactly.

As far as the fenders go, they are a bit away from the tires unloaded but the suspension squats a bit especially with 2 people. moto fenders where the only way to go for me since i have the 4" tire in the rear. they are pretty high quality plastic, thick and sturdy but still flexible - my friend wheelied it out and bounced off the fender without any damage.

Bit of an update...rebuilt the bike after a hit and run late last year. New frame, fork and front wheel. Brakes upgraded to shimano saint m820. Upgraded battery to 20s30ah with onboard 900w bulk charger. Also i'm waiting on a sabvoton 72v 150a. Will update with more pictures and video when I get the controller.

Can you take it to a MX track and either jump it yourself or get a racer to? That would be sooo cool.
