Hi everybody,

I started to build my first Ebike a while ago and decided to share it's progress.
Had a tough journey as all components were from different sources and didn't worked together well.

Frame: Vector Typhoon frame €397
|
It was a discounted one. Overall frame is good. Noticed one spot near the shock mount that wasn't sealed correctly.
The carbon wrap had few scratches, but now it has a lot more. It's not durable at all.

Hub Motor: Rapid S3000 Laced into 26" wheel. €354 From Poland https://www.e-biker.pl/
|
Had two problems with it. One axle being to big, had to sand the frame wheel mount in order to fit it in.
And second was the spokes weren't tight enough, so after few rides I started to hear spokes rubbing to each other. Oh and the wheel wasn't thru so had to do my best to fix that. Other than that it works really good. Has enough power to pop the wheelie.

Controller: Sabvoton V2 SVMC72150 €454 https://electroncycles.co.uk/product/sabvoton-2-svmc72150-36v-72v-150a-programmable-sinewave-foc-controller/

Can't tell anything bad about it. Works perfect, never even got warm ( the motor got few times really hot).
Has really cool display.
The connectors could have been a bit longer as now throttle connector has to be outside the frame, will replace it will longer wire in the future.
I even managed to damage the memory chip on the display, thankfully removing it the display started to work again. Had a circuit breaker and it pop quite a few times, so I assume back emf damaged something on the display.
Also the cnc came in handy again, needed to cut a mount for the controller since had no free space in the frame, it worked out really well.

Battery: Built my self from LGMG1 18650 cells that I bought from Tumich here on forums.
|
Bought 300 of them, but in the end managed to fit 270, so it end up being 18S15P instead of 20S15P. I took a while to solder everything, but I'm happy with it. Still left to install charging port and balancing port, as wont be using BMS. Just 3 6S RC balancers when I'm charging it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-in-1-Lipo-Battery-Balancer-RC-2s-6s-LiFe-LCD-Voltage-Tester-Discharger-Charger/362020251590?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
Will post final look for the battery when it's done.
By the way used a tesla style cell fuses.

Headlight: From ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Motorcycle-Hi-LO-LED-Halo-Projector-Headlight-White-Angel-Eye-Red-Devil-Eye/321857957646?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Cut a custom mount from aluminium with my CNC. And used PVC pipe and Acrylic to make the housing for it. Still need to get black carbon wrap for it, grey doesn't match the rest of the bike. Installed a simple waterproof push button to the frame to turn the light on. Looks nice and works great. The headlight it self doesn't look that great, but don't care as long it does it job well. Will be building tail lights with my cnc too, planning to use RGB LED strip with custom housing for it. Will mount it on the frame itself near the shock mount from both sides.

Charger: Custom voltage for my pack https://www.ebay.com/usr/mersebikes7
|
Really a nice guy even sold me a custom voltage charger as my battery is not a common one.
Also I wanted to charge 4.1v per cell as want to increase battery life.
Charger is 4A, so not that fast for such a pack, but it works good enough for me.

Just a short video me going home from work and coworker trying to catch me :D

P.S. Will be updating this post with all the info about each component ant it's quality.

Can you figure out what happened to your images. I would really like to see them. I have the same bike but have not started building it yet.

What do you mean? I can see the images just fine.
Here are all photos.

EDIT:

True, something was wrong with pictures. Fixed that.

Holy batteries batman! That thing is looking sweet well done on your build! I like the headlight bracket too

Thanks, glad to hear that you like it. I was aiming to build good looking ebike which I could drive for fun and to work. Since it was ready to drive can't remember when I used my car :D
Had 73v charge on the beginning, done 117km trip to another city and back and still was at 64v, so it was worth to build a bigger battery.
If I would sell this one and build another, I think I would get ABS side cover panels and put in much more bigger battery, since I could stack cells in different layout.

Vector has an interesting battery but it seems they don't ship them to the US.

Yeah they do have it. But my battery cost was like 40% compared to it.
Not sure about the shipping. You should ask them about it.
