I have not used public charging stations, so the info I have is just a guide to potentially help you find the info you need. If you have more info than you've listed so far, providing all of the info you do have may help us help you more thoroughly.
Are the charging stations free? If not, then you'd have to check with the company servicing the charging point for how to setup an account with them, etc., if it isn't just always active, and free (not sure if any of them are). Each company may be different in how they work, so you would have to check with each one you wish to use to find out. There are some threads about some of them in this list

As for the plug, if it is the J1772, then there's a number of threads including a sale thread for the connector:
https://endless-sphere.com/forums/search.php?keywords=j1772&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=titleonly&sr=topics&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search
These threads mention or have discussion about the connector in them:

If it's chademo, then these two threads have a bit of info; may not be what you're after
https://endless-sphere.com/forums/search.php?keywords=chademo&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=titleonly&sr=topics&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search
and these posts mention the word but I don't know if they have the info you want

If the station you want to charge at requires communication with the battery, so that it knows what DC voltage to provide, at what current, and when to stop providing it, then you'd need something in there that can do that. If the Orion will do that, then that's one option. There might be open-source projects out there to do it, too, I have not looked into this. Do you know what the standards are for the specific stations you want to use? I found this summary
https://pod-point.com/guides/driver/ev-connector-types-speed
Similar to phone charging cables, car charging cables tend to have two connectors, one that plugs into the vehicle socket and the other into the chargepoint itself.
The type of connector you need varies by vehicle and the power rating ("speed") of the chargepoint. *
Electric vehicles either have a Type 1 or Type 2 socket for slow/fast charging and CHAdeMO or CCS for DC rapid charging.**
Most slow/fast chargepoints have a Type 2 socket. Occasionally they will have a cable attached instead. All DC rapid charging stations have a cable attached with mostly a CHAdeMO and a CCS connector.
Most EV drivers purchase a portable charging cable that matches their vehicle’s Type 1 or Type 2 socket so that they can charge on public networks.
but it doesn't mention what's actually required, and it doesn't mention by the mennenkes name the connector type you've found most common, but it does show it as type 2.
If the station just provides AC power (rather than DC) then it shouldn't need to talk to the battery, and all it needs (at most) is ID information to tell it to provide power or not. That is generally simple to do (it's what the various J1772 adapters Iv'e seen appear to do).
This wiki article on the Type 2 connector shows at least two very different designs in images and diagrams.

This also shows a useful diagram of what is provided in different modes, which indicates type2 does have a pure-ac mode, so that you could use it with your onboard battery charger, possibly without a complex BMS / charger communication setup.

OpenEVSE appears to be a DIYable charger for J1772, it might be adaptable to your stations if they aren't J1772.
