Anybody know about it?

EV1?

Yes! Everyone should study the GM EV1. I was mainly interested in how wide a power band could be had with increasing volts and only 1 speed. At 312 volts and 80 mph, it is the best i could think of. and 0-60 mph in 7.9 seconds!
Makes me want to run a 120 v treadmill motor at 240v LOL

Here's another one that does 90 mph with a single speed.
Zero to 60 is, well I'm not sure, but really really fast.
Actually, I think the orange Porsche behind it does over 90 mph with a single gear also.

The Tesla roadster has two speeds. First is used from zero to 120mph or so.

The EV1 and the Tesla both use induction motors. Induction motors have a much wider power band and the top rpm is not really limited by voltage.

Cool!

So I'm really looking for the widest 1 speed powerband for a DC motor.
Anyone?
I recall Versitileman had an etek doing ~56-60 mph.

Current is the "enemy".

At 312 Volts the efficiency would be very good and you would not heat the motor that much, but if you got shocked you would likely die.

White Zombie 1/4 mile - 12.151 @ 106.25 mph
