The electric scooters are not selling that well these days. I heard Vectrix has gone under. I have heard that the pedals on some of the scooters have short crank arms and don't work very well. I think you get a lot more range and performance from a good electric bicycle.

My thought is you're trying to get something faster and more comfortable than a bicycle. A scooter is probably a good thought. A lot of these will come from "Unproven" Chinese companies.
In California if it's under 2,000w/under 30mph you can get moped one time only registration and no insurance. Don't know the story in Florida.
