have a hub motor on catrike expedition hub motor with pedelec mode works for the first 8-10 miles
then starts cutting out and running erratically running choppy and shorter in an out ,, ok the torque sensors are maybe faulty so i start to use the thottle and the motor runs great with throttle
so if it was connections , why would the motor run good in throttle mode ??
then i try to use pedelec mode again and the motor will not run right
go back to using throttle it works fine so i think its got something to do with
torque sensors ... does this make sense , has anyone had this happen to their
hubmotor ????

Can you feel more thrust above PAS mode when applying throttle? If not, you may just be hitting battery BMS cutoff with the PAS and not when using throttle because maybe your throttle doesn't apply as much throttle signal as PAS does? It's sort of a long shot but easy enough to rule out?

If everything is fine for 8 to 10 miles, I would be looking at the battery.

If the problem shows up and goes away predictably from the PAS, then it's prob not the battery.
Do you have an actual torque sensor, or a PAS that just senses that the pedals are going around? Either way I guess, it could be a weak connection on one of the wires, or a hairline break in a solder trace that heats up slowly during use until it starts glitching. How long do you need to leave the system off before it starts going for the 8 or 10 miles again?

You need to tell us what sort of pedal sensor you have. You mentioned a torque sensor?
