Blown motor???

I got my controller hooked up this morning it took a while but I finally got it working it was showing about between 35 and 40 miles an hour on the cycle analyst and then all the sudden it felt like something grabbed in the motorand the motor stopped now when I rotate it by hand it feels like something is grabbing please tell me I haven't destroyed my motor

Although I have no cycle analyst as yet… It don’t sound like you destroyed your motor.
Disconnect the cycle analyst from the controller and see if the wheel turns freely with the bike switched on and off?
