2015 XPD Motorino

Can some one help me resolve this issue?
I just bought a xpd and it worked fine for the first week. My 16 yr old son borrowed it and now it wont run when I turn the lights on? it works perfectly when the lights are off.

Could be a pinched wire in the lighting circuit, which can be really hard to track down in those with the way the wires are bundled... Got a multimeter for doing continuity tests?

I removed the seat and shroud and did a quick look for pinched wires. I was hoping someone would say just do this...... and it would be fixed. I hate chasing electrical issues.
I guess that is what I will be doing today.

Knowing kids, it's possible that it got laid down on it's side or banged hard against something, causing a pinched wire that shorts battery power (from the light switch to the DC-DC converter, if it has one) to the frame.

If so there may be scratches or dings in a spot near where the wire problem is, to guide your search.
