Hello Guys (from Southland, New Zealand)

My first post after a bit of lurking, so by all means box my ears if I haven't done enough homework but . . . .

I'm a fencing contactor, and I'm looking to build an remote controlled off-road EV that will carry my tools (about 75 kgs) and sometimes materials (up to 250 kgs) up and down the fence lines I'm building. Slow but steady (lots of torque!) will define this machine with 10Km/h being a top speed, 5 Km/h more usual and a range of 5-8 Km per day.

The newly announced Honda 3E-D18 is a very sophisticated idea of an EV that might do the job ( video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrfaBrL007I ) and a simpler one is the ATI E-Transporter (Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uir_BSfcRag )

However I'd like to see a lot more similar machines before I start to plan something for my purposes - so if you can think of similar EV,s or have thoughts on them I'd love to be pointed to relevant links or information.

Thanks
Foster

Oh, nonononono with encouraging the trolling, we have a few fulltime snerts dying for the opportunity to carry on when nothing is wrong.

That Honda E3-D18, I want one even without a use for it. My mother Has a deer as livestock ranch and the 4 wheeler like offroaders ride is a useful vehicle. I'd say the basic platform you want exists and people already electrify those. Quarries have had automous dump trucks for some time. And drones have systems where it'll follow you, so it all sounds somewhat off the shelf.

I wish someone around me was building one, this sounds fascinating.

Not Ag per-se
but interestingly Top Gear with Matt LeBlanc did an episode on electric dirt bikes. Watched it last night. I have an old dirt bike thats been sitting for a decade that I plan to convert one day. I was trying to think when I was watching that show what kind of motor they were using, I did see a chain like any other dirt bike. 20kw motor or a bit more.

Probably the KTM "Freeride" electric dirt bike..
https://www.dirtrider.com/2018-ktm-freeride-e-xc-first-look#page-2
Or the Redshift..
https://www.altamotors.co/redshiftmx/
Or the Zero MX...
..( Zero motor/controller packages can be found used.
But there are several other similar bikes available.

Hi Tentman,
Am in NZ also, would you be looking building it yourself or having a 3rd party build it?
Would your main use be on farm tracks and do you also bulldoze up your fencelines?

Gidday - Probly have to build it myself I think, relying heavily on engineering friends but ya always consider all the options so if a manufacturer wanted to share the prototyping risks . . . .

I do work on bulldozed lines (I don't do the dozing) so it needs to be narrowish to fit up them once the posts are set, but as a general rule I don't work on steep ground like the young guys do and the paddocks are pretty flat down here in Southland!

Drones, robotics, what a world.
