n 2017, Australians bought 1680 EVs of 2,000,000 bought worldwide, while China purchased 680,000.
Cheapest EV in Oz is the Renault zoe..$45k for a "Micro car" limited range and speed.
Next up is the BMW i3 @ $75k before extras
If we are lucky, this year the new Leaf may be available for $55-$60k
Otherwise you are looking $100+k for Tesla etc.
So,...do you see why no one is buying in Oz ?

China , on the other hand has endless selection of options and prices.
Many are in the $20k range but also many down much below ,..even as low as $6k for "Micro car" size EVs
And of course, they also have subsidies and rebates for buyers.
That, and a customer base about 40 times more than Oz, is why they sell a few more !
