Wanted: One 16s Li-ION BMS

Post by The Mighty Volt » Aug 11 2019 3:01pm

Hi, I am building a triangle pack for a home made ebike.

I'd prefer one discharge point and one charge point.

50A discharge OR MORE ideally, not too pushed about the charge amps.

Not interested in the usual £14.99 jobs that don't work.

Something with big ugly resistors if necessary, I need this thing to really balance a pack.

This battery is getting built into a triangle frame and left there, I don't want to be taking it out and putting it back.

Thanks.

How damaged are the cells already?

If they're new well-matched cells of good quality, being used well within their limits, you won't have to worry much about balancing, especially if the BMS has a proper (meaning above absolute minimum) cell-level LVC so the pack doesn't get run down to nothing.

If they're worn out used recycled cells of various kinds mixed together...well, then you probably do need a better balancer, if you want it to balance while still quickly charging it.

;)

Hi Amberwolf.

The pack hasn't even been made, I got 100 cells from a guy online and they are all, so far, 3.869v or so.

They look good.

I basically I just need something that will not allow me to drag the pack down or over charge it.

Thanks.
