In the news for Reno, Nevada, USA:
In 2017 alone, Tesla and Panasonic will hire several thousand local employees and at peak production, the Gigafactory will directly employ 6,500 people and indirectly create between 20,000 to 30,000 additional jobs in the surrounding regions.

(Actually a "bigger" store with several locations...Mmmm... and bill themselves as "Electric Bike Specialists".) :)

Anyway... job seen here:
https://cyclingindustry.news/assistant-managermechanic/

Starts off:
Take Charge Bikes is entering it’s 8th year of trading and was one of the first eBike specialist retailers. We are seeing fantastic growth in this sector of the cycle industry and expect our growth to continue, and we want the right person to grow with us. We specialise in electric bikes but we can also supply traditional bikes from most of our brands.

We are looking to recruit an assistant manager/mechanic for our Bath shop. Greenville, South Carolina? or Los Angeles County?
Proterra is working on longer range buses – more specifically its Catalyst E2 all-electric bus with 350 miles of range on massive 660 kWh battery unveiled last year.

The company recently hired Tesla’s former Vice President of Manufacturing to lead a production expansion at their facility in Greenville, South Carolina, and their new factory in Los Angeles County in order to satisfy the increasing demand from transit agencies like King County’s.

ELECTRIC BICYCLE Startup - Looking for Partner

(Filed on Craigslist under "los angeles >westside-southbay"...)
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/b ... 52221.html
Electric bicycles are gaining popularity and the US Market grew over 50% in 2016.
My startup is ready to launch and I'm looking for the right partner to gain rapid market share.
I've spent one year doing R&D and researching the marketplace.

We have designed exciting e-bikes and will be selling direct to the customer up to 50% less than Retail.

Everything is ready to go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looking for a working or silent partner. Investment Required. Fast ROI and Equity
... and:
Electrics "finally have legs to be able to take off in the U.S.," because cyclists are feeling safer on the roads, battery and motor technology is improving, and retail prices are dropping, says Todd Grant, president of the National Bicycle Dealers Association. However, e-bikes have been banned in some U.S. cities because of safety concerns. Some states' vehicle laws lack specific classification for e-bikes, causing confusion among riders and police, says Morgan Lommele of PeopleForBikes, an advocacy organization that's worked to get states including California, Utah, and Tennessee to pass pro-e-bike legislation. "Once we get the biggest opposition--often police departments--to ride e-bikes, they say, 'What's the big problem?' "

(LockH » Mon Nov 28, 2016, in thread "More E-bikes found in NON-ebike media":)
"Lekker Bikes Opens its First Sydney Store":
https://www.broadsheet.com.au/sydney/ar ... kker-bikes
Retro and fixie-bike specialist Lekker Bikes has opened its first Sydney store in Surry Hills, following stores in Amsterdam, Antwerp and Melbourne. The company was founded in 2009 by Dutchman Meindert Wolfraad and is inspired by Dutch cycling heritage and Australian beach culture.
... and:
Wolfraad plans to open more stores, in Berlin and Brooklyn, to conquer the notoriously difficult American market. The brand will also soon launch a range of kids bikes and electric bikes.

These bicycles are also available for hire straight from the store. All rental bikes come with a helmet, lights and locks. Pop in for a test ride now.
... and on January 7 they announced:
https://www.facebook.com/LEKKERbikes/
The lekker electric is just arrived! Light weight and you can cruise between the 50km and 80km on 1 battery. Test it in our stores in Sydney and Melbourne you will love it!

... and on January 24 announced:
We're Hiring!

At our Melbourne and Amsterdam office we have 5 new jobs available. Great internship oppertunities and the position of Brand Store Manager in Amsterdam.

We're mega excited to expand our team!
