SDEB Is Actively Seeking: Qualified, enthusiastic, creative, ego divested individuals who like working with people as much as wrenches and wires. Position will start as part-time during training period and transition to full-time in January. We're currently looking for a minimum 1 year commitment, from one or two individuals who would bring value and be a good fit within our team that is located right here by the ocean on the famous Hwy 101 in Solana Beach, CA (North County San Diego). We are a small tight-nit team, so you need to bring a strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and common sense. Applicants should feel comfortable shifting gears between the following roles: electric bicycle technician, bike builder, retail associate and 'jack of all trades'.
Primary Roles & Expectations :
Service & Repair Electric Bicycles
Answer phone calls/emails and provide technical and sales information
Learn the industry and understand the products we offer on a technical level
Constantly crave greater skill & knowledge in this exciting and ever evolving industry
Package and ship accessories and warranty part orders
Manage and service in house fleet of SDEB bicycles
Assist customers in the purchase and follow up/maintenance of their ebikes
Perform bicycle repair operations in a timely manner
Tune and fit bikes for customers
Maintain spare parts inventory and shop demo bikes.
Maintain workshop organization and cleanliness.
Participate in local outreach events.
Help maintain and never tarnish SDEB's outstanding & invaluable reputation
Common Sense & a good attitude : )
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum 1 year commitment to our team
Preferred Bicycle Experience & Qualifications:
Experience as a bicycle mechanic
Sales or service experience within the bicycle industry
Basic knowledge of electricity, motors and ebikes
Outstanding writing and communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, both in person and on the phone
Ability to self-manage daily schedule and ensure all assigned tasks are completed

E‐BIKE TECHNICAL PRODUCT SPECIALIST:
Bosch eBike Systems, the current market leader for pedal-assist electric bike (eBike) drivetrain components in Europe, is growing quickly in North America as more bicycle dealers sell eBikes "epowered by Bosch."
Your role will act as a local technical manager for all technical support of bike manufactures within a defined territory (Midwest), including technical training programs for bike manufacturers (e.g. train the trainer) and support of their promotional activities (e. g. launch events). Organizing and conduction of dealer clinics in close collaboration with the service partners and OEMs (bike manufacturers).
This position provides technical support for dealers and support their promotional activities (e.g. road shows, dealer days).
Support, develop, expand and improve the customer service concept (e.g. hotline support, training concept) for the Bosch eBike System Reporting information about the North American eBike market trends, customer requirements (bike manufacturers, dealers and end consumers) and regulatory environment.
A Technical Degree or a College Diploma is required.
Minimum 3 years' experience bicycle industry required and 3 years' experience in training bicycle dealers (conducting dealer clinics) and/or experience as a bicycle dealer.

JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are in need of a qualified bicycle Technician. His/her primary responsibilities include building, tuning and maintaining bikes at our stores.
In addition, the e‐Bike Technician will be asked to give maintenance seminars, create tutorial videos, workshops and online technical support for customers.
The e‐bike Technician's job is very important as we depend on well built and maintained bicycles to make the customer's experience a great one.
The e‐Bike Technician reports to the Sales Manager, but is expected to be proactive and be able to manage his or her own time and responsibilities.
Repair, check, and fix bikes following our Shop standards
Prepare and build complete bikes for in‐store and online bike orders
Fill out repair forms for all maintenance and repairs made on bikes & update in our customer database
Keep the inventory of the workshop updated
Keep the bench and the workshop clean and orderly
Provide feedback about bicycles and be an active contributor to the retail and office team
Deliver bicycles to local customers throughout Los Angeles County
Be customer service oriented and personable as you are the face of our company when delivering bicycles
Assist with general retail duties such as customer service, and inventory management
Maintain and upkeep of demo and rental bikes in a consistent manner
Ability manage his or her own time and prioritize tasks
Good team player and communicate clearly with customers
Capable computer skills & experience using point of sale systems
Able to problem solve and work in a fast paced environment
Ability to potentially work longer hours during busy sales seasons
E‐BIKE TECHNICIAN SKILLS
We usually require a certified or 3‐5 years of shop experience, although, exceptions will be considered for worthy candidates. Besides the usual knowledge about a bicycle, we require the following skills:
Some electric bicycle knowledge Assembling/disassembling and identify different types of bottom brackets, headsets and other industry standards
Wheel building, wheel truing, tire changing (tubular, clincher and tubeless)
Crank arm replacement
Changing brakes, brake levers and shifter levers, cables
Chain check, replacement Above all, we need a bicycle Technician who has an eye for detail in terms of professional level bike building and someone who would make a great fit with our team.
