Want a auxiliary battery that mounts to the rear rack on A2B Metro Electric Bicycle.

Sent a email to people at http://wearea2b.com/index.php/us Reply was:
Replacement batteries for the Metro are no longer available through A2B.
The main battery is inside the frame.

Yes, 'wearea2b' seem very quiet now! I guess you could also try these guys:

https://ebikemarketplace.com/blogs/news ... eplacement

They may already have a complete spare/reconditioned rear case/pack available for you?

There was also one on eBay a year ago - maybe contact the seller to see if he can point you in the right direction anyway:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/A2B-Metro-Velo ... _cvip=true

There was also a place in Taiwan offering new rear packs last year, but they seem to have disappeared now!

Good luck anyway.

:)

You can use just about any 36V battery for the rear. You just need to make a way to mount it and cut off the stock connector and splice on a new one that fits the new pack.

You can also run a higher voltage up to 48V for more speed.

The factory rear pack is nice but very hard to find these days.

Yep! ;/ (@ 'fechter' - your posts/work here have inspired me greatly - thank you!)

Luckily my old Metro already came with a factory rear case, which I then 're-packed' with x4 of these - in series/parallel:

Frame pack now has x4 of these in similar config:

Tight fit, but worth it. :)

ear also runs lights & USB charging port. ;)

Good range & pace now - Stock motor loves it, but stock controller has the thermo cut-out glitch still on those hot days!

Hey e-Glider.....the lithium batteries you linked to are either 7sx2 =14s (51.8v) or 6sx2=12s (44.4v)! Neither of these packs will work with the stock A2B 36v controller, right?

Wrong. Both packs still work fine on my Gen 1 unit. :)
It seems that the stock contoller will handle up to around 57-59v before it freaks/burns out!
As mentioned, the only 'glitch' with the stock controller/motor seems to be the built-in automatic thermo cut-out.. which obviously, ambient temperatures aside, will tend to get warmer sooner, the higher the operating voltages etc.

Great.....I asked as I've got a '10 A2B Velociti that is in need of a battery rebuilt & I desired more top-end speed over the 20mph limit. Is it possible to cut a "wire" for the temp shut-off? So, what level speeds are you getting with a 14s pack?

The thermal sensor is buried in the controller, so not easy to get to. The controller is potted.

With the stock 36v battery, my Metro would go about 20mph. With a 14s battery, it goes around 27mph. The only time I had the temp sensor cut off on me was after a really long ride. It takes about 30 minutes to cool off enough to reset.
