For sale is my much loved electric bike which I built myself while studying to be a Mechanical Engineer 7 years ago. This bike is a beast and with a good battery puts out over 3kW with its 72V 45Amp controller coupled with a crystalite HT hub motor. With that amount of power it's not exactly road legal, consider yourself warned.
UNFORTUNATELY THE BATTERY IS ON ITS LAST LEGS AND NEEDS REPLACING BEFORE THE BIKE CAN BE REGULARLY RIDDEN. I will only sell the bike to someone on the understanding that the bike requires a new battery to give the bike a new lease of life. As such I am willing to move on price to find the bike the right new owner who knows enough about electronics to make their own replacement battery and charging solution. It currently runs a 20s3p (72V nominal 15Amphr) LiPo pack that I built from Jozzer's reject LiPo packs way back when. Unfortunately if you don't posses the required know-how to get this bike back to its best then I probably wont sell it to you. Please only contact me if you are a serious buyer with the electrical know-how and mechanical-sympathy to take on a project bike like this, if you don't know how to look after this bike you could destroy it very quickly and possibly burn down your house in the process
The bike has barely done any mileage in the last few years so everything could do with a good going over before you start using it. Take a good look at the pictures the paint is a bit crazed and rubbed away in places and the chain just loves to jump off the Chainring
With that said it is one hell of a machine
and evry where I used to go it would turn heads
It's really upsetting me, the thought of not owning it anymore. But it upsets me slightly more seeing it collecting dust. I'm keen to find the right person to take this bike off my hands and give it the new lease of life it deserves. If that's you? Drop me a PM and we can discuss. If you don't have the electrical/mechanical know-how then I'm sorry but this isn't the bike for you. Also it is collection only.
Some old info is available in my build thread, see link in my signature.
Thanks for looking.
