Eastgem Escort - carbon fiber electric bike project + ton of extras and spares - unfinished project parting, Seattle, WA

Post by pks » Feb 16 2021 12:54pm

I have previously built this for comfortable high speed commuting to work but due recent work move and subsequent Covid it was never used and has less than 200 miles total on all components. Now we’re moving internationally and I am very sad at not being able to take it with us. All components were purchased brand new and are in great / near new condition. The bike was fully operational when I decided to do a custom Cycle Analyst install and although all wiring has been completed and tested a couple of years ago I was in the process of optimizing wiring placement in the frame so there might be some work required to put it all back together. Please consider that it may need work before it will be road ready again.

1. Frame:
Escort frame with motorcycle style seat finished in carbon fiber look and protected by clear epoxy. The frame itself is very light and super strong.

2. Front fork
Marzocchi 380 C2R2 Fork - brand new purchased for the build. Never seen anything other than paved surface.

3. Rear shock
The bike came from a manufacturer with DNM RCP-3 fork that is 240mm long and I have replaced it with Fox DHX RC2 that is 270mm and creates better riding height with 18in wheels.

4. Wheels & motor
The wheels are moped 1.8*1.6 rims with moped spokes and original Denzel front hub. The tires are brand new Continental ContiGo 2.75-18 matching front and rear with moped tubes for durability. Motor is MXUS 3000w 72v, 10g spokes and it has run in total less than 200 miles under power, practically brand new.

5. Controller:
Kelly KLS 7218 rated at continuous 180A, comes with Bluetooth adapter for changing settings/programming/monitoring of parameters.

6. Breaks
Hydraulic brakes with 203mm rotors. Brakes come with power cutoff switches which are configured to turn off the power and engage regen.

7. Battery
SANYO 72v 28Ah (18650 cells) in removable case with 10A quick charger and built-in wireless access key with alarm. Comes with upgraded 100A continuous discharge BMS and Bluetooth connectivity. Had maybe a dozen or charge cycles max. I have plugged it to the charger and it doesn’t seem to want to take any charge. I can only assume it has fully drained after being stored for 2 years in a dry storage. Please assume that a battery replacement is needed unless you know how to resurrect this one.

8. Fenders – front and rear
Matched to the carbon fiber frame look. Front fender is Topeak DeFender M1, rear fender original Denzel part.

9. Rear pannier.
Original Denzer rear pannier that is super strong and can hold a lot of weight.

10. Front lights
FAIRING F-03 finished in carbon fiber look as the frame and other components. Wired up for both lights and indicators with the switch on the handlebars and indicators on the custom dashboard with integrated Cycle Analyst v3.

11. Torgue sensor for PAS
Sempu Torque Sensing Bottom Bracket wired up with Cycle Analyst. It makes riding this bike extremely convenient and immediately intuitive. Paired up with Aux switcher for CA to change PAS assistance modes.

12. Display
Custom painted Cycle Analyst V3 with mounting bracket and customer CNC machined dashboard that includes turn and power indicators as well as brakes and front light indicators.

13. Additional wheels set
Original 24in wheelset (front + rear) with brand Denzel 24x3.0 tires and all new 7 speed Shimano drive gear with 203mm disc brakes. I was considering alternative setup with mid-mounted motor hence ordered a set of wheels that can be used with this frame.

14. Spare parts
Spare front lights (unpainted) + carbon fiber stem and handlebar (haven’t had a chance to swap standard one with the upgrade). There is also another spare wiring kit for Escort bike and original display which I’ve replaced with Cycle Analyst.

Price
The original cost of bike without fork and Cycle Analyst components was $4090 without shipping to the US. Forks and other upgrades were another $1100. Everything is still in fantastic condition as you can see from the photos and would be perfect for someone who is looking for the high quality kit to build the bike at very reasonable price. Happy to consider parting and selling separately, i.e. wheel set, frame, forks, etc... Let me if you’re interested in something together with the price you’re willing to pay and location where it needs to go.

Payment accepted by PayPal, Zelle or cashier check (time to clear will be required). I am comfortable looking into international shipping but it will be extra based on where you’re in the world.

Should you be close to the Greater Seattle area and interested to come and look at the bike, you're very welcome to do so.

Bumping the thread and highligting that I'm happy to part it if you're only interested in a part of what I have, for example, wheel sets, frame, fork, etc...
