Complete HPC Thunderbolt kit..... Sold !!!!!!!

Postby Scratch1973 » Mon Mar 11, 2013 2:28 pm

I am selling a complete Hi-power Cycles thunderbolt kit that includes a heavily modified Crystalyte H 35XX motor laced into a 26 inch mountain bike rim with a 7 and 9 speed freewheel. Front rim with hub is included. Both rims have tires and tubes and ready to install onto bike. Motor does have hall sensors but ended up accidently ripping the wires and have a 72v - 45a sensorless crystalyte controller and 3 lithium ion polymer batteries each rated for 25.9v 10ah with a discharging current of 50a continuous and over discharge protection of 83a. ( the batteries do have some nicks from the rear shock hitting it cause the were mounted in the main frame triangle of a full suspension bike but I have had no problems with them) charger is included as well as a large screen Crystalyte cycle analyst and 2 different throttles, thumb and half twist. The whole system is rated for 3500w but I know the motor can handle up to 4000 but you would have to add to the battery and change the controller. The whole system I paid 3500, I want $500 firm and unless picked up in person will only go thru PayPal. Buyer pays shipping.

2 questions.

1. Do you have any photos?
2. Where are you located?

I assume it's the same one described here:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=38029
from last year around this time, where pictures were also asked for to try to help the person, but he never bothered to come back and help us help him there, either. ;)

Hmm. If you really want to sell it, you might want to ask the potential buyer's questions above. ;)

What would you you want for just the battery's? If the previous poster doesn't want them?
Any more details on them?

Honestly I really don't want to split up the kit and piece things out. I'm sure I could use it on another bike but it's not going on the phasor.

That would be NO squared :?

The kit is knackered, and the seller does not want us to know where it would be coming from.

Bad seller

The keyword is "heavily modified". This is likely a false claim. Here is one more instance of overstatement from a certain supplier (Insert three letter acronym) who is just in the business of ripping off good people looking at getting into e-biking. This forum post is just the result of a misinformed end user.....without a camera?

Nah, I just clicked profile button for OP, then looked thru the list to see if anything might match up.

Even so, I screwed up my post and said "ask" instead of "answer".

Yes, it's a great deal. I spent a LOT more for my first setup. This will make a great ebike!

I want to see the inside of the motor to repair the halls sensors. Thanks for offering the expertise.

I checked each of the 3 battery packs and 2 had one out-of-range cell out of the 7 in the pack. The first two pouches had the first cell at roughly .68V and the 3rd pack had the first cell (with the + lead) at 3.65V while the rest of the cells were all at 4.2V.

I'm looking to replace two of the very low cells since I don't think those will come back and be reliable after I charge them individually. The 3rd may come back when I charge it... If anyone knows of a source for 10Ah 10C LiPO pouches, please let me know. They look like these from Batteryspace.com who wants $45.50 per cell!
