Panosonic 25ah Prismatic cells for sale $28

Got something to sell? Have extra parts that need a good home? Have something that others would need to complete their kits? Post it up here and see if anyone else is searching for what you are selling.

The only "PN" on the cell is the QR code near the negative terminal. There is nothing else anywhere on the cells.

These cells put out 250 amps per cell in the cars they came out of. I have this car with 100K miles on it, and it still puts out full rated range. The car only runs the cells from 4.1 to 3.4V so I don't get 25 ah out of the cells, but I get a metric crap ton of cycles :)

These cells can put out 500 amps for 10 sec if you allow for a 1V drop in voltage (just like tesla does on its cells at 20 amps). I used the DCIR I got a few days ago to calculate that amp rating.

While in the process of running these tests I burnt up one of my anderson powerpole connectors that SHOULD be good for about 40 amps... but apperently not 40 continous amps... lol... so I bougth some 4mm bullet plugs to replace my anderson powerpoles.
I had 14 awg wires and went up to 12 aw
That is why specs sheet rocks, P45 is 40A rated with 10AWG, single wire to wire condition.

Any good news on the order?

Yup, that is one of the vehicles that this cell comes out of. I think the data they put out correlates somewhat well with what I have posted. They say at full cahrge you can pull 1.7kw out of each cell, I was saying 1.5kw. (3V at 500 amps=1.5kw)

Their DCIR is slightly higher than mine, but they are measuring the entire pack and I am measuring just one cell, and I was also doing it from the values the Icharge gave me vs an accurate voltmeter.

Good info, Thank

Seller let me know my order did not go thru for some reason, but I placed it again, and the batteries should be here on Monday, so I will disassemble early next week, and can start shipping out batteries by late next week if all goes well.

Thank you

Any comments about whether these would work well in a 14s configuration for a stealth fighter?

I don't think so. I think they are big for that. You do not need 250-500 amps.

These would work well in a race car. On the cmax it has a 7.8kwh pack and it dumps 80ish hp (10C)

Ok pack is 50% disassembled. Cells are compressed a bit. I pulled apart one module and I was able to recompress them by hand. Cells need to be limited to 1.13" per cell. I measure 15 cells and they were 17" long. So compression is minimal but confinment is required as stated originally.

I checked every cell in one module and all cells were between 3.500 and 3.503v. I have spot checked other cells and they are all with in the above range.

Cells will start shipping early next week for people who have paid.

More pics

I'm trying to show the confined lengh of the cells in these photos. I started at 1" and ended at 18", so 17 delta, and there were 15 cells inbetween. It looks like my start 1" mark was a bit off, I will measure with calipers tonight.

The first module is apart, and cells are shipping out Monday.

Compression is needed. The cells need to be compressed until the spacing between each cell is 1.13" On the modules have end plates that are about 10mm thick aluminum. So that is what I would use. Put a piece of plastic between the cell and the aluminum plate. The case of the cell is .5v from the positive terminal, and 2.9V from the negative terminal. So the cells can not touch each other. you need the plastic separator.

USPS!!!... They probably sent via air even thought I had lithium sticker on it. :(

Glad ur happy :)

Just remember to compress them until each cell is 1.13" wide. I will post a crappy drawing of the bus bars. U can use them as a gage to check the compression.

I don't know about your recommended width with compression, since the original configuration has the plastic spacers for airflow between cells that take up considerable length in the rack.

Awesome cells, been using them for over a year on various builds. I put 4s on a big car battery tester, and with the cells at 3.8V each they sagged less than 1V with a 200A draw, so I fully believe the power ratings. On one build I use 1p at 240A peak current limit and the pack never feels warm.

How much for a fully rack of 21s, no disassembly? Do you have a source for more low mileage packs?

The compression size is from the assy. Their spacing is just about 1.13"

view days ago i have this e-scooter for service and the battery stil have 60km range in eco mode :D
5 year old cells 3 years use 6000km/100x cycles stil perfect.

Yes I have a source.

I don't understand what you mean by what is the size. Do you mean of a 21 string? They are about 21*1.3+1" = 28.5" ish long. The width and high are much bigger due to how the encase the cells in the frame, about 1" on each side larger, so about 8" wide, by 7" tall.

I can take pics with a tape measure tonight.

I am in the process of building a battery for a guy, and I have put in 1/4" rods to clamp the whole thing up, and finger tight bolts seem to crush the cells down to the correct size. (I still need to confirm, I have not had a light of time to play around due to family activities)

Here is a 12V battery I'm building for a guy. It is about 13 lbs. (still missing all the bus bars)

Ignore the extra long rods, this was a mock up to see sizes. I also need to support the cells on the bottom. I'm seeing how I can reuse the old parts of the kit.

The ones you show pics of previously don't seem to have the plastic spacers between them, is that correct? Maybe it depends on each vehicle how they are configured to address cooling etc.

Not trying to muck up your for sale thread, eric, so I'll delete this if you like. Maybe more info will allow for different ways to utilize these cells. Ways to package them, need for bms, suitable chargers etc.

No worries about your statement. Everybody needs to be informed on how to use these cells. I don't want anybody to have issues.

Ah, Yes I think I see what you mean. Yes the black plastic spacers are there (THEY MUST BE THERE, THE CASES ARE ENERGIZED!!!!) but the orange caps hid all the spacers. In the battery I was making for a guy, the orange pieces are not there, so all you see is the black plastic spacers.

On the pictures up above, look at the sides of the cells, and you will see the black plastic spacers. The OEM battery does a good job of hiding the top of the battery. Again I think this is because the cases have voltage. I can measure 60V accross the entire pack if I just touch the case of the first and last battery, and if I touch the posts, I get something like 60V. (numbers are wrong a bit, I will check tonight, and post results)

I think that answers your question, let me know if it did not.

Eric
