DIY Boosted inspired electric longboard

got an idea.. what about this to replace the oven grill

I'm planning on doing a similar design, I have a quick question though. I'm using 83mm flywheels and I'm wondering what size belt pulley you used, I know the bore was 8mm but what is the diameter for the pulley as a whole?

Would this setup work? Any recommendations if not or what could make it better?

Also not so hot about the batteries, if anyone knows of any that are better, would have a longer life and more power in the same price range that would be awesome!

You need an ESC per one brushless motor, so if You're not buying "twin" esc (eg. Flier, APS) you're gonna need 2 of them for dual rear/diagonal set up. I can's speak any opinions about using boat ESC, don't have any experience with it (but from my short experience with eboard, the VESC seems like the best way to go). The motors are the same as mine. I use turnigy lipo cells because they are relatively cheap.

I would recommend you start a build/help thread so folks can guide you through this.

most everything looks ok except your ESC. You want a car ESC not boat or heli. The brakes (kind of important) don't work quite right on boat and heli ESC's. Dual 5060's should work great, but you will have trouble fitting the 5060's dual rear without spacers and wider trucks (i used Paris 195's on my dual 5060 (Torque's 5060 or 5065 - not positive any longer) setup. It was tight and spacers were needed (about 5mm ea side). Dual diagonal will work obviously.

Start a thread and we'll get you squared away!

I started a thread https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=74074
-let me know if you have any other help for me, I heard that the boat ESC works alright, not the best but this would be a cruiser for around campus mostly. If you know any other ESC's that would work for the two motors that is under 70-80$ please share them with me! thanks for the help!

Hey i have some questions for you or if someone else could answer them.
1. where did you get that screen with the battery indicateur.
2. where did you buy poweron button
3. how did you setup on board charging

1. Bought on ebay, as alreary answered
2. Search similiar power button as anti vandal latching switch (BUT in my build it's switching mosfets-based power circuit, it's NOT switch that simply closes the circuit and allows current to flow)
3. By simply placing charging and balancing port on the bottom of front enclosure, next to power button. No BMS on board, I use lipo charger with balancing function.

Hey Squad,

My wattmeter failed last week. I had the same battery % mesure component in my tool case, so decided to install it like you did :D

Do you think this device worth? Not tried it yet as yesterday night was the Parisian massacre 200m from my appartement. Crazy, especially because two days ago I was at the Bataclan for a night show/party.

Nice ride!

I'm glad that You're ok, hope those ISIS bastards will get what they deserve...

This battery percentage meter is not super accurate, I'm using it only to know whether I have enough juice to ride or not. At approx 70% on display single cell voltage is about 3,8 V.

Hey sqaud so for the discharge connector was it connected like this

Beautifull build Squad !!

Newbie Questions:
I am amazed at how much speed you get on 7(S)!, have'nt seen many builds with these motors (very affordable aslo)

With these motors and your setup ,do have have plenty of torque ?
How does it accelerate from a complete standstill ?

Thanks !

The torque is more than enough, it can accelerate from stand still, although usually I push to give it a little bit of speed and save batteries for later. I guess it would work a lot better with VESC instead of flier esc ( flier/APS ESC sometimes has problem with detecting both motors after turning on, and even with slower acceleretion set up it sometimes tries to throw You off)

Thanks Squad, btw, i was able to see only 1 pic ?,..the one with all your parts gathered on the floor for the build , where there many pics?

Your right , opened pics with google chrome !

WOW that is awesome detail!....Love your motor mounts , those motors would have never fit without that design.

...Im just getting into this hobby and want to build one as well. I'm not sure if the more i read the more confused i am ?

KV high or Low?? Gear Ratios?, wheel size? Will you be trying the VESC's ?

Anyhow,.. Great build !

Thanks @randyc1! Yup, the mounts needed to have thin motor mounting plates and despite that I had to add 6mm wide spacers on hanger axles to fit motors with 15mm wide belt. Generally the best KV is around 170 for 12S set up, gear ratio depends on the wheel size/motor KV/and battery pack voltage. Benjamin Vedder wrote guide for choosing right gear ratio and motor KV, it's somewhere here or on his site.

Anyway, I managed today to put together this bad boy :D Can't wait to electrify it! Trampa rocks the quality is top notch! With the bindings it feels just like being strapped to snowboard.

I'm gonna update this new build in this thread :D
