Wow, that is nearby and I haven't heard anything. Looks like a fun project, I'd love to leverage my decade of amateur experience and get involved, but they probably want people with industry-specific degrees.

Interesting, but I find it a little distasteful that they chose to use the name of a great inventor/scientist to draw attention to their project,
Also find it odd that they think it necessary to load up with high profile " designers" , when the core of their workload must be developing and implementing new technology rather than attractive shapes.

Yeah, thank goodness Tesla didn't do that.

We squandered a perfectly good century! :p Edison with his 1913 electric car that went 100 miles on a charge.

..actually many believe Ford killed the Electric car when he mass produced cheap Model T's and sold them for less than half the cost of asn electric car !...
But a certain over ambitious taxi company also played a part with a familiar problem !....
.....in 1899 ninety percent of New York City’s taxi cabs were electric vehicles. This fleet of electric cars was built by the Electric Carriage and Wagon Company of Philadelphia. Not only that, but in 1899 and 1900, electric cars outsold all other types of cars, such as gas and steam powered vehicles. In

What actually killed the electric car was---THE ELECTRIC STARTER! Electrics were popular as the woman's car that didn't have to be cranked, though there were men driving them for the same reason. Many arms were broken by a sudden rockback, etc. As long as you didn't have to go far electric was very convenient and you didn't need a place to get gas nearby.

The article exaggerates the perception of the cabs themselves as a failure at the time, from what I've ever read about it.
