E-GO by Yuneec Internationl

A dual motor setup requires two ESC's, so no, stock e-go has only a single ESC. That's why I replaced the ESC by two VESC's, then your dual motor kit will work (use a splitter cable to power the two VESC's using e-go battery pack.

A single hub motor maybe possible with stock e-go ESC,I need to test it.

Curious if you prefer dual vesc with the benchwheel setup or with dual hub motor? I'm suprised the e-go battery pack can supply enough amps.

I would suggest that anyone doing the battery mod should go for 8s to be on the safe side....you should still see a massive improvement...

I've decided to permanently mount 10s. The native battery is 7s (29.3v) and 8s wasn't a huge improvement after getting used to it. 10s, you can definitely feel the difference!

Definitely want to reuse the ego battery pack for 2nd board. Either with dual hub motors or dual benchwheel.

10S seems to be the sweet spot.

8s was better. 9s was more better.
Then I tried 12s. Insane speed but esc got warm and I wasn't sure I'd want to risk it nor I need that speed.

Been using 10s 6600 mah 35C and that's more than I can ask for.

I did 7.5 miles and had 3.85v left per cell. My guess is 9 miles is doable.

Hi man, thanks for sharing,

I'm looking to upgrade the battery, I'm looking at the Alien POwer PAck 8s 10000mah 25C, but when I read your message I'm now looking at ENersion's space cell http://www.enertionboards.com/electric-skateboard-parts/space-cell-electric-skateboard-battery/

I don't know much about batteries, could you have a look and give me your opinion? Thank u

I had 2 of these sitting around that I used on my RC heli.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9503__Turnigy_3300mAh_6S_30C_Lipo_Pack.html

I just ordered these to connect in series for 10s.

https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=58948

If I'm ordering from scratch, I'd get 2 of these and connect in series.

Thanks SOnny, but I'm looking for a low profile similar to the ones I mentioned above...

8s setup isn't bad at all.

I'd go with 2 of these

You can find good cheap chargers as well.

Thanks sonny, but I'm looking at a flat battery and I can't decide between:

And

I think you will be disappointed with 8s after a few days. The stock battery is already 7s.

Thanks sonny,

So the answer is to go with the 10s space cell http://www.enertionboards.com/electric-skateboard-parts/space-cell-electric-skateboard-battery/

It really depends on what your comfortable speed is.
With 10s, my top speed is 18+ but my cruising speed is 15mph.

As mentioned early, you may outgrow the 8s soon.
It's good to have that extra speed when you need it.

That 8s battery you posted comes with a charger.
If you order a one shot 8s lipo, you'll need a fancy charger that can charge 8s.

I have a Hyperion that charges up to 6s. So I charge 2 in parallel.

If you get 2 X 5s packs, you can get one of these chargers and charge in parallel.

Just make sure you're familiar with lipo batteries and how to charge them.

Hi All,
I just got my e-go and I was interested in upgrading my top speed to around 20 MPH Preferably, Im not worried about the cost, can you guys let me know what I could upgrade to get there? Id like to keep the USB, Charging Situation etc, function-able. Could you guys let me know whats worked and links to these items. Is there also a way I could swap some 8s in there with keeping the old battery enclosure? I only weigh 150 Pounds so I would think just 8s lipos should get me to 20.

after riding for about 1 month on 10s, my EGO ESC died... it no longer powers on... nothing appears burnt on disassembly. looks like the replacement cost about $100 -- thinking about buying it so I can put the EGO back together and sell it.... once you get used to the faster speed, hard to ride the regular EGO

Oh nooooo!! bad luck mate :( and shit! i just ordered a 10s power pack (flat) cost me £199
i guess i screwed

Ohhhhh
I'm very disappointed too, I just bought a second hand E-Go with the hope of increasing its performance with the 10s batteries...
¿what can we do now?

I think I may replace the controller with a VESC. The E-GO sensored motor can be hooked up to the VESC, I believe... that will easily handle the 10s and better functionality... minimal price difference....

Jake, I spoke to Bruno last week, he said he s still working on your motor, let me know how it goes...

What is VESC, could anyone please explain it how it works? Would u have a pic?

Thnx

Hi

Yes, he's modified the mount to take a 63mm motor, i should hopefully have it back next week, i think he is sorting the wiring out and its done!

Loads of info about the VESC on the forum...it might jus be bad luck that "tomtnt" Ego esc burn out....i have given mine a hammering on 10s up hill most of the time and my ESC wasn't even warm, not to say it going to last on 10s!! ...maybe 8s would be the safe option

Yep, but maybe the question is if going to 8s is worth the mess

8s isn't worth it... you loose a really nice battery enclosure, easy charging, a clean looking deck for a bit more torque and top speed...

I'm going for 10s flat pack from alien f**k it! I'm also ordering a battery case bamboo series from evolve, I can't afford 1500 board I need speeeeed
