Heat Sink Addendum:
I have contacted the seller and they do not sell mating heat sinks. The issue is that the proscribed sinks in the spec have non-standard mounting rectangles: A typical 50mm x 47/48mm (2.0” x 1.9”) mounting does not map to a direct fit without modification or slotting.

One needs to find a half-brick heat sink that has a mounting rectangle of 52mm x 54.6mm (2.05” x 2.15”) or other alternate solution, likely a custom design.

This is probably not a big issue if the current draw is low and/or operating in cool climes.
 
I sell cheap but very reliable Dc-Dc converters (48V dc to 12V dc) having a 12V dc entry you can use or adapt by yourself almost any gadget.
I did the converter in order to put blinking lights to my Trunk Trail (it had only reflective material but not lights) now I have added to my trail a more fancy and expensive look, but overall a lot of safety to me (blinking lights are more visible to car drivers).

seeing the price of the 12 to 48 volt 5 amp step up converter it would be cheaper just to buy 8 48 to 12 3 amp step down converters and make a 4s2p and have 48 volts at 6 amp.

the thing is i am not sure if the outputs can be seriesed and paralleled.
 
My gawd man - think/be monolithic ! Reduce the part count. Do it in one :wink:

If you need more current - perhaps you need a larger circuit.

And for the record, mine still operates, answering all bells and whistles gladly without a hiccup.

Best early-on investment I ever made. In fact - I bought two.

Anyone know where to get 90v to 5v switched mode low current ~200ma tiny cheapo DC-DC converter?
Id like to use it my own BMS and CA designs.
Cannot find any good schematics for diy on Google either. :roll:
There are many out there but all max ~40V and rarely max 60V

many switching-mode wall adapters actually work with lower voltage and in DC input too. (if it says 110-220V AC input, then it is possible that it works also with 90VDC)
I tested bike led lamp charger by 48VDC (just connect DC power to AC socket pins) and it worked.

I tought something like this size
To fit it my homemade CA handlebar case.
Really there is no exist higher than 60v DC-DC chips?
What about this weird design?

small one, enough for a 30W DOT LED low/high beam and indicators. I use 3 units with 13s. works fine so far. There are versions with 2-5amps, I only bought the 3amp version yet.

I had bad exprience with 2596HV that are rated 55V but died at lover voltage. this is too little money for the hassle to go with the cheaper unit IMO but maybe those are still worth a try

for 20s+ batteries i would go for asus eepc 12V powerupplies. They are rated for 85...240V AC but most work fine with 50V...250V DC. They are not waterproof though...but you can make them waterproof by potting them in silcone :D
