Qulbix 165/140 Raptor /NYX Carbon - Sabvoton/Adaptto - 20s/22s Build #5

just for the cops. You can setup the ca to voltage you like (to see) i divide it by 2
it was 4am in the morning on a clear highway.
with daylight would be cooler. but a bit risky as iam not in russia :D

Thats awesome. I figured with the speeds you were going that 40 volts was actually 140 volts. 40 volts for the cops, is there a way to have 100amps diplay as 10amps on the CA by screwing with shunt values? With a 14s system that would be around 250watts with volt sage.

yes. if you dont "need" the real wattage, amps and volts, you can setup the ca to everything you like to see.

in my first 100kph raptor speed video, i had 40v and 4Kw because i dont divide the shunt by 2.
but with this setting you have to "calc" everthing you see by 2. watthours, amphours etc.

strange thing: with my old trekking ebike i was pulled out 3 times from the cops.

2013-08-13%2018.25.40.jpg

with my raptor never. "they" saw me maybe 10-12 times. but just looking.
if the time comes iam prepared. if iam riding in the legal range. i would stop.

if i know they saw me flying around, i take the next "flight" crossover everything home :D

as i know my Battery, watthours using etc very well, i could divide all that stuff by 4.
looks really legal an 250w accelerating compared to a real "25kg, 250w pedelec/ebike"

spring is comin. cant wait to ride every day :)

Yesterday (night) wasnt my day.

my "thermal test" was with 20s and 50A Flux.
i think it is even to adapptos ovs "2"

on my older cro v3 9kv i had 100kph with 100a flux weaken.

so, lets try what happen setting up the sabvotons field weaken to 150A

first try: wtf. totally empty battery (3,65v each cell) and hit easy 105kph.

charge my 2,5Kwh Pack, watch a movie in the meantime, setup cam, and go out for a run.
all i can say. new camera holder sux. wiggles quick up to film the heaven.
last time i replaced a XT60 connector because it was a bit "deformed"
sure it was 100a continuous in a closed frame. but i had two of them to half the current for each connector.
the mistake was 2 wires lay over each other and this heats up alot more.

just want to share my mistakes.

with 150A flux, it was clear it wouldnt stop on 8/9Kw like in my last video. 8/9KW are about ~100A continuous.
it was my first try, so i didnt expect that the controller have to push 11,5KW continuous (145A continuous)
(i let the sideplate on battery side 1cm open for alot of cold air flow.)

this ride ends quick. 112 GPS kph. and an "exploded" XT60 connector.

what i didnt get: why is it "exploded"?
if it was melted, okay. too many amps, too much heat. but a loud "bang"? i would say it was a short circuit. but there was only one side blown.

heat cant be a problem. 100kph on 8°c cold air was flowing around the connectors. all others look really good.

XT60 are for 50A continuous without air flow. i used them for 2 minutes of 75A with 100kph ice cold air flow. nothing deformed or melted.

50A in a fantasy world maybe :)
for that current I would go for xt150, just to be sure that they will not be a bottleneck.

Totally agree Allex, but looking at the picture, that joint looks burnt quick, not melted at all. Just a strange failure. Merlin, get some XT150s, you wont regret it. I somehow think you know this though. Any luck with Ferrotech?

no 50A they eat really easy. my charge equipment had XT60. Sometimes when a buddy comes around for a ride in the forrest we charge his battery quick in 40 min.
its a junsi 4010 and we charge full 70 amps. i monitored with a heat gun. yes. it gets bloody hot that you cant touch (~80°) but it works. ( i can make a video charging) :)

i wouldnt take my hands in fire for that IN a CLOSED frame. no matter anymore. i changed all i had to XT90. very happy nothing happend to my controller.

yes also: i think a bad soldered wire it was. if it was a short circuit still wonder why my 150A FUSE didnt blow. everything is fine.

Bike runs great and pulls incredible. I think the controller "start" settings are a bit conservativ. it feels like the bike goes "slower" from 0-30 now. from 30-100 i see also continues 12KW.

i would buy a spare sabvoton, but this company sucks. no answers anywhere, anymore. redirect to motopulse also i get no answers.

Rix, i write another mail and set you in CC.

heres a good overview from a german guy who is well known as a great tester of new batterys, chargers and motors.

edit: i remember that are cheap fakes around from XT60.

XT60(3).jpg

Hobbykings website says 65 amps:

Made from high-temp Nylon and gold plated spring connectors, both included in the injection mould at the time when forming the connector. The XT60 ensures a solid high-amp connection, perfect for applications up to and beyond 65A constant.

Most/alot Lipo Batterys had XT60.
for short i dont see a problem by 100amps. But the 65C Monsters had XT90 :p

how did you get that speed on 20s? on my mxus 4t i got only 43mph with a lyen 18fet 20s hot off the charger, However i just ordered a sabvoton same like yours hope i can get it over 50mph with flux weaken :p

where did you order it?
the SSC Series? (Square format)?

atm i need some new fenders....i had a "backflipp" during bike wash...never touch the throttle with your left hand to hold the bike
