Yes guys.. That's a doulbe TRIPPLE stack YASA motor build for drag racing !!!

Building the world's fastest electrical dragster - made in Latvia. Our target is to be faster than 200 mph and quicker than 7s on the 1/4 mile drag strip.

That's a MONSTER !!!!

This guy is about to proove how capable are the brushless motor in drag racing !!!

Wow, that guy is all business!

That's going to be an electric dragster that likely can make repeatable passes all day at the track rather than needing it's brush assembly rebuilt after every hot pass.

Between this, Garlits, and John Metric, ..we seem to have a real competition emerging.
I suspect it may well all come down to who has made the best battery choice. .?

That is an interesting questions!.. or.. what will be the limiting factor next.. motor?, controller? Battery?
The only one you can exclude are wires, contactors, shunt and fuses and monitoring etc... lol

The only other Electric drag racer i know is Michel Bertrand from Montreal why is using tripple AC35 in a porsche.

Btw that FOX dragster is using the YASA 400 motor: http://www.yasamotors.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/YASA-400-Product-Sheet.pdf

It is actually 165kW @ 700vdc with 360nm of torque to about 4,200 r.p.m, so 227 horsepower

one more e-PORN !

This is what 796 ft lb torque and 680 hp.

Weld V Series Wheels, Front 17 x 2.5, Rear 16 x 16 Double Beadlock Ultra Light
Hoosier Tyres, Front 17 x 2.5 - 17, Rear 34.5 x 17 – 16

Reminds me of the AMG / Ciggarette electric race boat..
Two independent powertrains: they are symmetrically mounted on the left and right side. Each of the two powertrains has 6 compact permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors with a maximum power of 185 hp (138 kW) and maximum torque of 184 ft∙lb (250 Nm) each; so the boat provides a combined maximum output of 2220 hp (1656 kW) and maximum torque of 2213 ft∙lb (3000 Nm).The electric motors are taken from the SLS AMG Electric Drive.

Dang, when I saw that title I was hoping it was going to be YOURS!!!!

Being yours would be okay too.

Too bad we don't have people with MONEY hangin' out at this community posting these rich boys' toys.

Nice dragster and nice skateboard!

I love your project!

Is the reason for doing 6 of the 400 series YASAs because in a quarter mile the motor controllers available is the bottleneck rather than the motors?

Props on the build thusfar. Can you share more about the reduction box?

The yasa 400 is stackable with is splined hollow center.
I dont know about the 750

Nice build. When Properly built brushless dragsters become main stream. NOTHING else will have a chance.

What controllers are you using?

Here are the replies from our engineer Kristaps:

The reason for using six motors is to achieve the target performance (¼ mile in 7 seconds). Our calculations show that six motors give the best specific power output from the entire package.

The main function of the “reduction box” is to merge the two motor stacks on a single output shaft and feed that to the rear axle. The unit is custom designed and manufactured for the application.
