E-GO by Yuneec Internationl

I can try and help take the Yuneec motor apart I started to but stoped because I decided not to, I think I have the tools to do that though. I have 3 flashes/ vibrate on remote, I replaced 2 35v capacitors on the ECU, I have tested the motor without hooking up the sensor with an independent controller so the motor is fine I think its the hall effect sensor that may not be bad, but may just not be in connection with the ECU. I tried removing the red wire and I'm still getting 3 yellow flashes and vibs. :?:

With some leverage and brute force anything is possible!

More findings :) This was not easy guys but I did it without breaking it, Bearings may need to be replaced I did damage the then Shielding on them when punching them out with a flat head screw driver. Nothing that can't be replaced though, looks like three sensors, White wire is not used but as you can see in one of the pictures there, looks pretty clean not as bad as I thought it would be.

Motor disassembled What would be the next step, pulling he sensors off?

Another Finding, I did a continuity test between from the main plug of the motor (short pins) to the small circuit board that the three hall sensors are soldered on to. There is continuity telling me that the cable is fine, Note: I took a small flat head screw driver and carefully scraped the silicone adhesive off re reveal the solder contacts for testing. looking like an issue with the hall sensors... gonna take em off and look for a way to test them. mean wile here are more pictures.
Used my helping hand to hold the plug wile I was testing.

was it necessary to take this apart? :?

LOL
We need to make sure the hall sensors are getting power and are working. using a multi meter on the ECU end, we can test the sensors there too.

here is a video showing how to do test the hall sensors

I'll keep the motor apart and hook it up for testing and use a regular magnet to test the hall sensors with.

I'm following your work attentively here. After my post above, I just bought and replaced the motor. Yuneec guy was nice enough to sell my the whole rear truck, but it cost quite a bit.

During my wait, I killed my backup E-go by passing too close to a small fence. The whole tail was ripped off, and now the motor is throwing errors as well. I'm gave the motors to a friend who is going to try to dismantle. I hope to somewhere create a single working motor from the two broken ones.

I realized that the Beep you hear upon connection with the remote comes from inside the motor. Is there a portion of the controller in there?

Would someone have an email adress for their customer service/warranty ? If possible the europe one (they are based in Germany)?

Thanks!

To make the motor rotate the coils must be energized and de-energized two at a time in a specific sequence. To produce a tone only one set of coils needs to be energized. Since the signal is not sequenced through all of the coils the motor will not turn.

The signal sent to the coils for normal operation is basically a DC voltage that is sequenced through the coils two at a time. The signal for a tone will be a chopped DC voltage with a frequency of anwhere from 20hz to 20,000hz. Those fequencies are within the normal human hearing range. The exact fequency used determines the pitch of the tone.

Also How much was the motor assembly?

Tyrian, are you talking about the whine an electric motor gives off in operation? The beep I was referring to was the double beep you hear when you switch the board on, and the single one when the remote connects with the ECB. I had always assumed the beeping came from the ECB, but it from within the motor.

I'm embarrassed to say that I paid 110 euros for the assembly: the truck, motor, motor cover and a new belt. Nuts and speed washers where included, but no wheels.

that would be $123.36 US dollars

No when you power the Yuneec E-Go board the beeps you are hearing come from the motor, yes the remote makes noise too, I'm getting 3 yellow flashes and three loud beeps from mine.

Hall sensor test results! two of the three Hall sensors are turning on and off about every three notching turns of the motor, and the third one was tuning on and off about every three and 1/2 turns, kinda seemed like the third one was a bit random but it still was turning on and off. All sensors read when on 1.22v and 0 when off, supply voltage is like 4.6v, Guys What am I missing.

Man that sucks that you broke your backup and hit the fence, :( weird that when that hapend it triggred this error, How many lights flashes on the remote are you getting?

Can't remember how many. The "doctor" has them now and is operating so I can't test. I didn't even check what kind of error the app was testing.

BTW, if you need it, I have the Android app beta. Don't know why they never released it. It works great, and even gives you a text error message rather than just beeps. Battery temperature too. If someone calls when you are riding thing...BEEP!

the android app works!
i use it for troubleshooting. for example, my remote is on rabbit mode but the board is slow.
using the android app, i set it to rabbit mode, and the board is very fast! but i dont think i can ride using the smartphone in my hand. theres absolutely no tactile feedback. so i know theres something funky with my e-go remote. :(

Yeah, that switch gets kinda of tricky with age. Try cleaning it out with a toothpick, but it's far too easy to move.

Anybody else tried the board on 10s then? I might install the 10s enertion batterie, and when the ESC dies, I'll install a VESC instead..

Hey guys,
does anyone tried modify the Firmware, using the USB-Connection yet?

I thought about that too, I'm interested in possibly reloading the firmware thinking that in doing that it might fix the 3 beeps and 3 vibrates error that I am still having...I want to play with this thing so bad! I still need to contact support what was the phone# I'm in the USA, I don't think it is a motor issue, although one other person said that he put a new motor from a new board on a board that he thinks had 4 flashes and beeps his board would ride for 5 seconds and then stop completely with remote showing an error and vibrating, changing the motor fixed his issue. Seems I have 3 flashes and 3 beeps thinking my motor/hall sensors are okay what else could it be?

I tried analying the USB-Port Data, but it seems like it is not used for transfering data like normal USB connections. I couldn't receive anything.
Does someone know, how the Port is connected? Maybe it's only connected with 5V power for charging.. :/

Hey, I had the exact same problem. I tried unplugging the 2nd battery plug (little red one) and i havent had the 3 yellow lights since! You should try it out!

can you confirm if you were in rabbit or turtle mode with your 10s?
my e-go controller is stuck on turtle mode or something. the e-go even on full charge is slow even with the rabbit mode on.

Was wondering how you resolved this problem. I am in need. Thanks.

Has anybody else using a 10s setup had their ESC fry? There's too many hills where I live for the stock Ego setup. I'm planning on ordering my 9s and BMS soon.
