Hello everyone. I am looking to buy a cassette removal tool that has already been cut in half. I have a 2016 Radrover with a 750W geared Bafang hub motor and 7-speed Shimano cassette. I just bought a 11-32 Nickel-plated cassette but cannot change it out because of the wire coming out of the axle. I don't want to cut and splice/solder the wire. If anyone has a specail tool for ebikes with hub motors, please PM or reply. I'm willing to pay top dollar just to get my new cassette on. Thanks!

If the motor wire plug is small enough to go thru the cassette, you should be able to dremel out the hole in the tool. I clamped mine in a vice and went at it with the mini drum attachment, only took about ten minutes.

The freewheel removal tool, sold by EM3EV, has a 17.6 mm hole (18 mm if you scraped off the cheap plating) that allows passage of any connectors I know of. It is designed to fit Shimano, and DNP freewheels.

I just found a picture o a 750 watt Bafang I have never seen before. It, like all I am aware of uses a freewheel, not a cassette. However, unlike those I have seen before, the wires come out the freewheel end of the axle, and it has a huge plug!

Could you provide me the link? I want to make sure that I order the right one. Thanks!

It looks like the plug is enlarged to show detail. They use that same plug on a few brands now...super hard to probe the pins in there for troubleshooting

That's the same motor in my $1500 Radrover

Just easily dismantle the freewheel from the top and remove the core with a wrench. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsVL1XqZve8
