All righty then. Got everything going on this build. Got on it and fired it up and cracked my motor mount which then swayed then threw the chain. Almost did a standing wheelie at half throttle. My ride lasted about 2 seconds. The split you see is from 2 2x6s ripped to length on my table saw them chopped on my miter saw. Its 2 2x4s sandwiched together for a 3 inch thick piece of wood for my motor mount. Did not expect to crack it so easy. The torque is insane. I could also gear up. Currently running 11/70 and I can go up to a 13/70. Not sure if going from a 5.4 to a 6.4 ratio would tame the torque down that much however. I think I need to mount a metal plate to the scooter for some much needed stronger support to handle the loads of torque coming out of the motor. I drilled some 5/16 holes in the rear of the frame for some 5/16 bolts with locks nuts that I have. What kind of metal would you use and how thick do you think Ill need?

I would use a 1/4" thick piece of aluminium.

once you ride it a while you will be used to the torque and want MORE! I would't gear it up
 
WOHOOOOO, thats all I can say. Crazy, crazy torque for sure. It pulled my up my hill at home which is about a 20 incline at 15mph! Nice. I did order some aluminum for a new motor mount. My first mount was made of 2 2x4s cut to the dimensions I needed. Thats a 3 inch piece of wood! That snapped in 3 seconds flat, crazy torque. My 2nd attempt my neighbor suggested ply wood since its layers are laminated and crossed it wont break with the grain of the wood. Great idea. I have a couple of ½ sheets left over in my basement. So this time I table sawed and mitered 4 pieces of ply to give me my 3 inches needed. Works great so far. No signs of stressing or cracking. Been riding up and down in my wet back yard in thick grass without any problem. Rides more like a dirt bike now. It only has 8 inch street tires on it, man if the frame would allow 12 inch tires and a suspension, Id be unstoppable. This was fun. Only downside is the top speed is only about 15 mph. Want to gear up to get a little more top end, but not to much since it'll make me lose my torque. What gear ratios are you guys using in yours? Drewjet, you are right, I do want MORE, thanks.
 
It would be better to go to a higher voltage for more speed instead of changing the ratios
