E-bike + carbon frame + 52V. 18650 + BMC motor

Love your work, your attention to detail is unreal

I might do a back flip and order a frame im thinking FUTR or the Vecotor Typhon, Just seeing which one is best bike to build on.

Cheers
Peter

Hello guys,

Peter, thanks for your words. Appreciated. Maybe, If was me, I choose the Vector.

In the mean-time... connecting cables.

Even when you're "racing to the finish line" you're still a perfectionist.
When it's finally done, please do a video overview, Luis. I want to give you a shout-out on my videos

Hi guys,

Vortecks, I will make a video...thanks.

One steep closer... The controller is done. Very big task. Just put in place, to see if everything is ok.

Luís.

Continue os the spaghetti wires.
I was afraid the hole I have in my battery box, for my wires to enter, was not big enough... with a lit persuasion, they fit...barely.
Since I can not hide the wires, I do not want, they look like a rainbow.

Hello crew,

Today I connect the battery, to check everything...halls connections, phases... Everything ok. 3 speed switch, regen button, key power-switch, anti-spark switch...everything run smooth. I still have to rotate the front tire, check all the bolts, tension and strait a lite the back wheel, install the chain, and tie up the connections...and maybe tomorrow, go for the first proper spin... 8) 8) 8)

WHAT? A SPIN? WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!
Luis, please do some videos. I've waited over 18 months for this and I know it's going to be good :D

Noooooo, you can't ride a bike that beautiful outside
It is a piece of art and needs to stay indoors

(Enjoy the ride and I look forward to the videos!)

Its raining... :x No raid today...

I install the chain...not happy. I will go to a bike repair shop, its not my league.
I put the battery together. Not like 100%. I have no space. I can not put a hard case around.
For now, its ready to ride. I already configure the cycle analyst and controller. In the unlimited position, its max out at 5000watts.
More to come...

Luis.

I've been watching this build for 2 years and 2 months now. Another few days won't hurt :D
Won't it be a good idea to invest in a chain splitter and spare links? If I have to remove the back wheel or work on it, I find it much easier to remove the chain so it doesn't get in the way. You know how hard it can be to keep the chain in the correct place when you need to remove the back wheel and not damage your paintwork.

Oh.... in case you were wondering.... I did join on Fri Aug 18, 2017 but (before then) I set a weekly reminder to see if there were any new posts.

Hello crew,

Vortecks, thanks for riding along... 8) 8)

You read my mind. Yesterday I bought a chain splitter. A dedicated one. I have one, but yesterday, I find out, its the wrong one...
The bike is 99% done. And from the start, I do not like the battery setup. I have no space to connect the series block. I have to pull the cables...I do not like it. More fast than I think, I will move to 18650 cells. I will enjoy the bike till then, with this battery, I for now, I will buy one, to one off the 18650 Gurus on this forum. I do not want to start another journey...for now. Maybe in the future, I will make my one batteries...

Luís.

Dá vontade de tirar os pedais e colocar uns de mota e um assento e está feita uma light motorcycle machine :D

Lets turn google translater on :)

Sad that we cant get a licence plate for our builds...i will make a lesser powered and lesser stylish version of your bike with pegs for use in private property.

It sounds to me like you have the wrong phase/hall combinations, Luis. If it draws nearly 1500w to get up a ramp and makes that noise, it certainly looks that way.
There are phase & hall sensor combinations that will still spin the motor but it will make a lot of noise and draw a lot more current than it should.
I know that noise.... it happened to me when I first used a Lyen 18 FET controller but I swapped everything around and the noise went away.

Anyway, it's brilliant to see it finally moving. You're almost done and there's only a simple wiring problem to iron out :D

Tony

Hello crew,

Tony, That's the opinion I want to hear.
My feeling tell-me, I have the wrong combination...but at the same time...
Tomorrow, I will try that. Thanks for your help.
I have the wires with anderssen connectors...no need the iron.

DUBRAVKO, No. I color match everything. With the wheel suspended, with no load, the noise don't look so bad. I just realise, something is wrong with the test-drive, especially going up the ramp...that noise...

Luís.

The diagram that DUBRAVKO gave is the one I was looking for - it's how I sorted mine.
I also had a small 'cogging' problem when I tried to pull away but (after I changed the phase wires around) it was as smooth as silk and zero noise.
Color matching the wires isn't always correct because some manufacturers use different colors for different phases. Even on my latest build where I used the Sabvoton and MXUS 3k, I had to swap phase wires over to make it turn (it was totally solid and only made a loud 'clunk' when I did the hall sensor angle test).

Fear not, it will be just a simple case of swapping the Anderssen connectors over and then, you'll be hanging off the back like Superman with his pants on fire :D

Hello guys,

Well...the connections are ok. They are ok, from the beginning. The combo controller/motor is really loud. The good news is...this thing is a rocket...a danger one. A 3 speed button is a must.
Going for a proper ride today, and this thing is fast and handle well the speed and bumps. Its not so heavy as my old cube. I have to do, some minor thinks...nothing especial.

Luis.
