Hi
A few millimeters is ok I also added a counter sunk hex head bolt to the drive shaft to create longitudinal force on the grub scew after tightening
There's a pic of my aft 1680 with the bolt

Motor freewheel uses aluminum bushing/adapter to mount it onto motor shaft. When have access to a lathe, you could turn bushing's collar thinner from threaded side (thick red line on the picture), so freewheel would screw on further outward on bushing.
Either that or loosen the fixing screw and pry bushing away from shaft the needed distance. Few mm's won't make much difference.

thanks everyone!
I just loosened the fixing screw, and pushed the sprocket up a millimeter...
