Hmm ? .. So , having found out what actually goes on,..not even a $10 million carrot could entice him to work in such a company ?
A $20 million carrot somewhere else could make that decision pretty easy. Especially once you have experience pulling a company like Tesla out of financial collapse.

OR..in more conventional terms, by volume...

......and the fact model 3 is almost at full production.... https://insideevs.com/monthly-plug-in-sales-scorecard/
Still assuming that sales are restricted by production capacity....those August sales figures (17800) imply a "run rate" Of a little over 4000 per week
If that is. "almost full production". Then either "Tesla Maths". has adjusted their production expectations down from their 500,000/yr, or they are still chasing the monkey on that production line !

They are so screwed when Toyota starts seriously making EVs.
Eventually, yes. But the first to market has a huge advantage, and that will keep them going for 10-15 years.

I dont think its any big secret that most of the big players would rather not be in the EV market just yet.
The all have the technology and resources, but few are building or supplying more than a fraction of their potential.
Most dont even offer EVs outaide of their key markets..CA, Japan, Taiwan, some of Europe, etc.... and then at prices the seem deliberately pitched to limit sales.
I dont think there is much margin in EVs yet.

 That's deliveries and not production!

Sure, but as i said above, with such a huge backlog of orders i have to assume the deliveries are restricted by production capacity/rate.
..Or do you have some other explanation as to why Tesla might stock build whilst customers wait on delayed deliveries ?

Yup.

..Ahhh ! , yes another 400 !... That makes a big difference .
Tesla apparently made a large batch of Model 3 vehicles with popular configurations and it is trying to match them to custom orders from local buyers.

There are reportedly around 400 Model 3 vehicles ready to be delivered at the location – :

 Rather than ask you post evidence or links,....lets just wait a few more days and see how close they get to their 55,000 Q3 target for M3 production !
I was talking to our Local Tesla center about getting the Performance Model 3 on order and he pointed out they have 2 blue ones in stock ready to be sold I would be able to have my car in a week. Next time I talk to him I will ask how many other versions of the model 3 they have in stock ready for purchase.

Seems Tesla is trying to stock up and make sale happen fast at MORE THAN JUST FREMONT.

Q3 is done , and the numbers are becoming apparent..
https://electrek.co/2018/09/28/tesla-model-3-production-goal-achieved-record-quarter/
...We have been tracking Tesla’s production in the past few weeks of this critical period as the company is attempting to become profitable.

As we reported last week, Model 3 production increased to about 4,400 units last week after decreasing to ~3,100 units the week before that.

Now Model 3 production reached about 3,800 units this week (Friday to Friday), according to the same reliable source familiar with Tesla’s production.

It’s still much lower than where Tesla wanted to be (6,000 units per week), but there are still some good news.

Tesla achieved a new Model 3 production record of over 800 cars last Friday and they maintain production of more than 1,000 cars (Model S, Model X, and Model 3) for 2 days this week......
.....
According to our source, Tesla already produced over 51,000 Model 3’s this quarter and if they maintain the current level of production over the weekend, they will be really close to a total of 80,000 cars produced, including about 53,000 Model 3 vehicles, .........
Record quarter ?...yes ! ( but that is inevitable in a start up situation)
Production goal achieved ?..... Hardly !
Even if they reach that 53,000 count, that is still below theiir own (reduced) target of 55,000.
It is effectively a "run rate" of 4000 units per week,... a level they claimed to be at months ago, and even way (50%) below the 6000/ week they targeted to be at by the end of August.

CNBC upload their complete NBR - Nightly Business Report TV show nightly on Youtube in full quality.
Also in the very same episode, they had a thing about how much the US tariffs are pushing up the cost of China built ebike imports. It suggests if you make your gear in North America you are going to be a lot better off.

The view count is tiny only about 10k views for the full show.
I don't know if its the powerful effect of "spectrum privilege" where folks simply don't watch unless it's sitting in front of traditional cable TV with a remote or folks just don't know how much stuff is out there for free on youtube these days.
To me, I find Youtube view numbers fascinating as it suggests folks simply don't watch things unless it only requires a single "on" button level of simplicity, obviously due to the long-held habits.

I'm still at a loss as to how some folks can be so down on Tesla.
Tesla are making arguably the most successful, desirable EV, and it's outselling all premium brands in it's class.
They are ramping up production to somewhere between 3000 and 5000 per week.

The company is about to hit pay dirt some time later this year, early next year at the latest.

And yet, it's a failure to some :? :?

GM went bankrupt (like proper bankrupt). And yet they still made cars and kept folks employed. I think Tesla will do better than that.

Ok Hillhater NOW WHATS YOUR PROBLEM? ;)

Politics. He has created solar, storage and EV companies, all of which are "liberal" industries. Right wingers, therefore, hate him.
