Ferritin level was high last year

Post by Matt Gruber » Jan 21 2019 10:55am

One of the many reasons i don't eat meat anymore is iron from the meat(ferritin) was collecting in my muscles, including the heart  While iron is necessary for good health, too much is NOT a good thing! Too much in the heart can cause heart failure  too much in other muscles leads to fatigue. So, i don't miss meat at all!
From what i've read, the human body can NOT get rid of the type of iron found in meat. So it just gets deposited here and there.

Maybe that's why I weigh so much. ;)

Perhaps I should swallow some magnets with every meal? :P

I always ask for a copy of my blood tests. There it was with an "H" next to it. H is for high, L is for low.
Dr. never said anything about it. It would be nice to avoid dropping dead. That happened to my friend Kirk, dead at 39. Also would be nice to avoid needing an e-bike for longer rides. Ever wonder how some people can ride all day, and not get tired? I'm sure there are numerous possible reasons, and ferritin is one possibility.
As I learn about blood tests, I sometimes check a box myself on the work order.
So don't be afraid to check the Ferritin box yourself, if necessary.

That's a bad idea. Swallowing one magnet is fine. Swallowing another magnet is fine as long as you wait long enough for the first one to come out. Otherwise the two magnets will find each other and stick, causing a perforation in the intestines, bleeding and death.

I know you weren't serious, but placing magnets in the gut is part of my "day job" research.

Properly designed magnets can stick two pieces of intestine together and form a perfectly healed connection between the two, then pass out of the system. Placing the magnets in the right spot and using the right size, we can make a "short cut" for some of the food. We theorize this will allow triggering receptor cells in the lower part of the small intestine, which will instantly cure type 2 diabetes. Sounds crazy but it works.

My theory is is the gut biota, all those germs in your gut, are gobbling up the signalling agents that the receptor cells are looking for. Changing the composition of your gut biota is possible, but with over 30,000 species in there, it is just too complex for us now and it depends on a lot of factors. Bad gut biota is the main cause of type 2 diabetes and obesity.

It would be interesting if you could cure type 2 with a change in gut microbiota. I believe the approach could work - if you can get the body to turn carbohydrates into short-chain fatty acids ( which is what happens in a ruminant's gut ).

However, our food system is what creates these negative effects on gut health.. so you'd have to perpetually dose whatever enzymes or probiotics etc that are needed, unless you pair that with a diet that promotes the perpetuation of the microbiota.

I am a type 2 diabetic and think that the standard treatment for that disease is expensive, lacking in efficacy, and horrific. I refused to take insulin and drugs and spent months going through research papers to find another way.

My body considers carbohydrates to be poison, as a lifetime of being a sugar/carb addict has destroyed my ability to metabolize carbohydrates. Therefore, i no longer poison myself.

I did a video recently about this approach and how it's treated me over the last 5 years.. for anyone interested:

There is a epidemic in the U.S in regards to poor gut health. We dont hear much about it, because drugs for erectile dysfunction and other conditions seem to make the most money, but I believe in the near future, we will hear much more about SIBO, STOMACH ULCERS, SPASMATIC COLON, etc. Our diets have been so " poisoned" for profits , that it is destroying the good gut bacteria and creating countless problems/diseases along with allowing H pylori to wreck havoc on our bodies. In many ways, gut health may be the most important aspect of overall health. If your gut bacteria is out of sync, you are now prone to numerous diseases. Sure, the pill pusher doctors will always want to put you on profitable medications, like PPI"s...but in the end, the best way to repair gut health, is to research and control what you ingest and systemically eliminate trigger foods that cause the problems.

I had been taking whey protein with Splenda for many months, for bodybuilding purposes. It completely damaged the balance of bacteria in my stomach/intestines and caused bulging hemorrhoids. Im still trying to repair the damage done, even though I quit ingesting the whey protein.

Make no mistake about it , the food industry, politicians and lobbyists , generally put profits, before the health and welfare of the people in society.

It is interesting how each person can react differently to certain foods, sweeteners , diets ,supplements , etc .

I have a friend who is 140 lbs overweight. He is disgustingly obese and he doesnt eat food he " grazes on food" all day long. He is a non stop consumer. This guy can eat anything and everything and yet he told me he never has stomach aches/issues and his cholesterol is about 190 { he is 63 years old}. Ive seen this guy sit down at a poker game, and eat a huge tub of UTZ pork rinds with a diet pepsi....he ate the whole tub of them ! Meanwhile, I watch my diet, dont eat sugar, soda pop, white bread or drink milk or coffee, and my cholesterol is 284 and im having stomach issues.

Just more proof, that life aint fair and everyones body reacts differently to certain things.

Grazing on food all day long and being obese is exactly what happened to me when eating a carbohydrate centric diet. I could not control my appetite at all. Coincidentally, this same kind of diet is used in agriculture to fatten up livestock - corn and soy all day.

Nobody is a victim. You can still buy real food. You can do a series of experiments to find out what your body likes. Scads of research papers are out there to provide clues. I went through this process and gained control over my appetite, metabolism, heart health, brain health, etc - as stated in the video above.

I spent the first half of my life thinking i'd not make it past 30. The difference between that person and the person i am today is simply taking my health into my own hands and rethinking what we'd all been told.

You are only a victim of this garbage food system if you chose to follow it's path without any conscious thought.

I wasnt trying to claim everyone is a victim. Although us slaves in society , are the main ones victimized by poisoned foods for profit.

I agree, that people need to be responsible for themselves. One problem is this, so much of our food has been poisoned, altered, for profits. You and I, are fortunate enough to have the time and money and desire to research these things, but there are billions of people who do not have that ability . Therefore it makes it difficult for them to pay for all organic foods or 100% non GMO fruits/vegetables or 100% non anti-biotic/ non steroid meats , because these types of food items, are often much more expensive to not only purchase, but can be difficult to find it certain areas/ grocery stores.

I have a story for ya. Not long ago, I had to go see my family doctor { which I hate doing} because my stomach was so fked up from the splenda/whey protein . It was seriously bad pain . So I go to see him, and tell him my health insurance will cover a endoscopy , to see the problem in my throat/stomach. He tells me :

" well we cant schedule the endoscopy without first putting you on PPI pills for at least 4 weeks. "

I flipped out and got pissed off at him. I told him I thought it was absurd to put me on medication, before we even knew what the issue was and that it should make more sense to do the endscopy first, to then see if PPI pills were neccessary. He told me, that isnt the way it is done nowadays. Just another reason why I despise so much of the medical profession and so many doctors have become pill pushers, for profit.

Anyways, I told the doctor to give me the PPI prescription, but I didn't take any of the pills. Im not about to go on a pill that shuts down the normal function of my body, without 1st knowing if that is the issue.

Been doing the all natural route for a few weeks now. Cabbage juice, Licorice , slippery elm tea , bone broth, etc.

Improvements have come, but im still not back to 100% perfect gut health that I used to have. Hopefully in another 3-4 weeks, my gut will be properly reset.

Not sure if any of you heard about the scam involving WHOLE FOODS ? they advertise organic foods { and their prices are very expensive} ...anyways, it was recently revealed many of their supposed organic natural foods, were normal food you would buy at a grocery store. They weren't organic, all natural, etc...but they still were expensive .In many cases its all about profits, deceptions . So there were millions of people paying high prices for food that wasnt even what it was claimed to be.

I do not eat antibiotic free or organic food. My monthly food bill is under $300 per month. I do a lot of food prep which cuts down on cooking time. I even did this food prep thing while working 3 jobs. Anyone can do what i do with a deficit of time and money.

At one point, i had been convinced that non-GMO and organic was the way to health. I had no conceivable benefits from this. The only notable thing is that my food bill tripled. That's not to say that we shouldn't stop dousing our whole food supply in chemicals - but that the elimination of these chemicals in this experiment had no effects..

Your doctor story is pretty typical. I have dozens of those. 9 visits out of 10 have not resulted in solutions. I do wonder what the 4-8 years of med school really teach.

Nep...IMHO, todays doctors are WORSE, then the doctors of a few decades ago, in many ways. Yes, the technology has improved, but from my experiences, doctors today are mainly " pill pushers" and the family doctors really cant do much, besides put you on pills or refer you to a specialist to help you.

I remember in the 1970s, my family doctor back then was arab, and this guy was GREAT...he would even stitch you up if you needed it, give you xrays...and he did all this, in his small office by himself.

It also seems, that most of todays doctors have totally discounted natural and effective remedies , because they are ignorant of such things, or because they cant profit from those things.

I got bitten by a stray 120 lb dog, several years ago . My local hospital had to order rabies serum from another state and have it shipped in because the hospital did not have it on hand. When it arrived, the doctor went to put the 1st shot in my shoulder...I told him.. WAIT....YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG...he looked at me and said " what do you mean" ...I told him, I had researched this online, and the 1st shot is supposed to be administered at the site of the wound { which was on my leg}. He told me, that I was wrong....I asked him to PLEASE, double check with your resources/ online info, to make sure . He left the room and came back about 15 minutes later and told me " sir you are correct " .

I HAD TO TELL THE TRAINED DOCTOR, HOW TO ADMINISTER THE RABIES SHOT ! Fortunately he was open minded enough to listen to my advice and double check and then admit his error. I am not a fan of doctors.

Neptronix, are you on a ketogenic diet? My wife is very high risk for type 1, due to family history and with both of us being overweight, she made the lifestyle change. In 6 months and with the holidays being off the diet, we are still down a good 65 lbs combined and have plenty of energy.

Challenge with all these diets is filtering out current over marketing buzz products (ie bullet proof coffee, pink salt, and suppliments) as well as outdated research from past iterations of these diets.

Only real thing i miss is real pizza, cauliflour or almond based crusts just don't cut it x.x We found a bread roll replacement (psyllium husk/almond flour base). Biggest tip to those who are able, give yourself a meal or two every 2 weeks (SAME DAY) where you treat yourself. Even if it breaks ketosis, it wont break your sanity :P My wife tracks everything through a carb manager app, but i do whats called lazy Keto. Just eliminated sugar, grains and legumes and try to my fats higher than protein, and eat lots of veggies that arent sweet.

As for not being able to afford quality food or not, the standard american diet has plenty of room financially to improve health just from the sheer elimination of processed goods from their food budget. Im not a 100% organic, grassfed type of person. I buy cheap eggs for instance, often normal produce. I do however buy quality non super market meats mostly due to taste, i'd rather have a 8 oz quality steak vs a 16oz crap steak. Portions go down and it brings the cost to comparable. I also use a lot of ground meats from butchers which does bring down the cost. With produce, i do what i can to buy local, but i will not pay an obscene amount. The biggest suggestion to dealing with trying to keep to good produce sources is being able to change what you are looking for to reflect what is a good deal. Convenience adds cost, so its up to you to balance your convenience with your pocket book

Time wise, learn to prioritize better, food is your health give it more priority. No one is saying spend hours making a meal, but theres plenty of 15-30 minute prep meals, that dont require much attention cooking. If theres no tv in your kitchen, bring a tablet or a phone and watch something to make it seem like less time. If im in a period of life where theres more a time crunch, i'll often prep veggies before i load em into the fridge after shopping, then you can atleast cut the meal prep to a fraction of the time.

I havent eaten a normal " dough pizza" in years....because I despise the carbs. Instead, I make my own pizzas using a round low carb tortillia wrap { they are about 6 carbs} with natural spaghetti sauce { about 3 carbs for the pizza} then pepperoni and cheese. I prepare them in a NEW WAVE oven for 6 minutes. They are delicious and low carb and filling. Since you aren't getting all the dough, you get to taste the cheese/sauce and peperroni much more then a normal dough pizza.

Low carb, hi protein, and delicious and filling.

Ive often told my wife, that if TPTB wanted to see the demise of a large percentage of our population, they would not need to start wars or genocide...just stop production of all pharmaceutical drugs for about 1 year. So many people depend on these drugs, that we would see significant population reductions. The again,. the drug industry is worth trillions of dollars, so TPTB aint gonna use such a method for population control.

Yes, watch the video above and check out my channel for some other videos on the topic i made when i got started.

Type 1's benefit from keto quite a lot, but type 2's are the real winners. So is anyone with a problematic appetite. This appetite problem is most likely due to the beginnings of insulin resistance, unless they are an emotional eater and using food as a drug of choice. ( in that case, i'd recommend taking up smoking, because it's healthier than a pail of icecream a night  )
Challenge with all these diets is filtering out current over marketing buzz products (ie bullet proof coffee, pink salt, and suppliments) as well as outdated research from past iterations of these diets.
Indeed. When i was learning about keto in ~2014, i also had the same information problem. But now it's a bit the other way - people overpromising what the diet can do, or creating new false arguments against it.. in neither cases, will you find proper science quoted and need to be skeptical when researching this approach.

My wife has mastered the keto pizza after a lot of experimentation. We've got to the point where an average person cannot differentiate it from regular pizza. She's thinking of commercializing some of her recipes, so i can't spill the beans on those, sorry ;)

This recipe for 'version 1.0' of our pizza attempts though.

Although i cannot eat a standard american diet anymore, i have to say that i fully agree with this. Processed food is expensive and nutrients go missing in most steps of that processing. I know some ultra frugal people who eat the SAD way and their food bills look more like $150 a month per person.
Time wise, learn to prioritize better, food is your health give it more priority. No one is saying spend hours making a meal, but theres plenty of 15-30 minute prep meals, that dont require much attention cooking.
I have settled into a routine where 2 hours of cooking on sunday feeds me for the entire week. People will spend 30 minutes driving to a restaurant, waiting, and driving home again.. do this 4 times in a week, and you've spent the same amount of time i spent preparing healthy food. And those restaurant calories come at 3 times the cost.

When you consider that the food costs ~3 times as much, then you need to work at your day job 3 times longer to pay the extra premium. Once you start thinking about this, you realize that convenient food is actually inconvenient.

I was clueless about cooking and eating healthy when i started keto and at a keto junk food diet. I still lost weight, but it was expensive and i knew i could do better. Learning how to cook is the best life hack i've found, other than low carb, bicycling, and not paying attention to mainstream news.

I usually use those mission tortillas as god intended - for chorizo, egg, and cheese burritos. Man, you have to watch out for those. Eat more than 1 a day and you will find yourself straying from the keto path in short time. Some of these keto foods are easy to overdo.

I usually use those mission tortillas as god intended - for chorizo, egg, and cheese burritos. Man, you have to watch out for those. Eat more than 1 a day and you will find yourself straying from the keto path in short time. Some of these keto foods are easy to overdo.

The again,. the drug industry is worth trillions of dollars, so TPTB aint gonna use such a method for population control.
Population control is bad for business anyway.
Yeah...thats the brand " mission" ...I get the large ones and I think they are only 6 carbs total...so I will cook a whole one for a pizza, and split it with my wife. It is a low carb meal and very filling . Like you, I do a lot of experimenting with my body . Probably my worst junk food I still eat, is potato chips. Ive always loved them.

Funny about this subject because I have been watching this guy on youtube who makes video's of him catching and killing mice and rats. The last one was a sensors switch, to turn on a wet dry vacuum with water in it. Another was a rotating axle into a bucket. Peanut butter is what he uses. Funny thing is, that youtuber has a pet mouse, odd. Even funnier, is youtube also recommend me a video on people making clothing out of mice and rat fur.

maybe they gave the wrong food to the mice, and over time they stopped mating.
what would they give the mice? CHEESE! where would a wild mouse get cheese? nowhere! it is a man made junk food!

Humans have been making and eating cheese for over 7,000 years.
Cheese is made from milk, which is the first food we were designed to metabolize.

Junk food? that's a new one..

I'm talking about cheese made from spoiled cows milk. Not mothers milk for the correct species.
Yes they have been making cheese for a long time. Once upon a time people would starve to death without some way to get thru the winter. So as a life saver it is fantastic, as is flour from wheat, and dried meat.
I watched your video, and i'm pleased you found an effective treatment, and if cheese helps you, i view the cheese as a medicine which extends your life. 8)
But for me, the side effects from cheese are not worth the risk, and it would likely shorten my life.
Each person has their own list of junk food tailored to their own circumstances.
I don't think mice ever made cheese, and suspect the side effects eventually killed off the colony in the experiment. I also had several other ideas, and without repeating the experiment, i'll never know for sure. What did you make of the mice video?

The mouse utopia failed due to the effects of social disarray and a lack of purpose in their lives.
It is an interesting parallel to the kinds of mental illness and social disarray that happens in large cities. But worse.

If you want a study on animals that studies the effects of processed food versus their native diet.. watch this, and it will blow your mind.

I watched this when i was still deep in health problem land, and it kicked me in the balls. I started thinking about people i've known who seem to be a bit genetically defective. I noticed that they all grew up on, and ate a diet mostly consisting of really low quality processed food.

I ate this way during my teens because of how poor we were. My allergies were so severe that they became life threatening. I moved 1,000 miles away from where i lived and still had allergy problems for many years until i started eating right.

This insight lead me to read Weston Price's "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration". This book was written around the 1930's and studied human skeletal and dental development of native people.. native people who had began to adopt highly processed food, and also populations who have been eating mostly processed food for generations now.

The book is full of parallels to the cat study summarized in the video. Although the effects on humans are not as extreme.

But those of us who live in modern societies and eat poorly are prone to skeletal deformities, thin bones, allergies, altered sexual development.
The 'soyboy' phenomenon, and growing popularity of accepting gender dysphoria as a norm, obesity as a norm, mental illness as a norm, etc - which we mostly find in modern cities - are most uncommon in rural or native areas.

Many of us are pottenger's cats living in a mild version of the mouse utopia.

And yet major cities are where all the cultural and technological development happens.

Have you visited the rural American South lately? Those folks are fat, and insane, and drug addicted. They just have fewer diagnostic or treatment options than city dwellers. I reckon it's the same in other rural regions of the country.

Gender "dysphoria" as you put it manifests in cities because cities are more tolerant than BFE. People move to cities when they can't express who they are, where they are.
